Please feel free to complain about aches and pains here. Or, share your magic cures for achy muscles.
Myself: My shoulders hurt. My patootie hurts.
ETA: Also, I get exercise induced hives and I had an incident at the gym last night when I tried to go for a run.

Is it the exercise that induces the hives or the fabrics in your sports clothes?
I ache all over (moan, moan, moan), my migraines have been behaving better over the last 3 days but the reduction in painkillers is allowing the CFIDS pain to come through.
I managed to cut up some leeks & sweet potato and have a hearty soup started in the slowcooker, that'll make everything better. Be at the table at 5, I hope you like garlic.

It's the exercise. It sucks.
Your soup sounds good. I have some dry cereal and a bit of soymilk to eat for lunch.

That's so weird, I've never heard of exercise induced hives before... hehehehe as I'm typing this Poppy is sitting beside me staring at me with upside down face and then licking my fingers as I type... I think she's hinting that it's near her dinner time!

My roommate's cat was chewing on my chair last night. I decided to feed him.
I only get it if I'm running. I can do pretty much everything else, but running makes me break out in terrible hives and if I itch them...epic, terrifying bruises.

My butt aches, from tooth brushing. Hehe. I was actually doing a thigh/leg exercise at the same time so that might be it though..

Spinning-induced butt soreness.

I get sore muscles a lot from exercise, especially weight training. I like to take epsom salt baths at night, even though it's supposedly an old wives' tale that soaking in epsom salt baths relieves sore muscles. It definitely feels good, so I do it anyway. And take ibuprofen. And light activity like walking seems to flush out my muscle soreness faster. That's all I got.

Stretch! hold each stretch at least 30 seconds and make sure you stretch your whole body for at least 10 minutes after the workout.
i've been really good about stretching and have noticed a huge difference. i still get DOMS but at least it's no longer DOMS FROM HELL.

I have a foam roller and I never use it! What should I do with it? How does one roll with it?

I hate to admit it, because right now I'm avoiding exercise and feeling guilty about it, but the only way I've found to make the soreness go away is...wait for it...more exercise! I get really leg-sore and the only thing that makes it better is running more.

my foam roller came with a DVD but there are tons of videos on youtube. basically you place roller on the floor and position yourself on top of it (dirty!) and roll - ive seen people roll back and forth but ive also heard you should just roll away from the heart. i always do hamstrings, quads, calves, IT band, and my back. sometimes i will do shoulders and arms. you can google "self myofascial release" or "trigger point therapy" - there are conflicting views about whether its science or quackert, but i personally thing its amazing and i tend to be a skeptic. i also have one of these, called "the stick" which i take traveling: http://www.amazon.com/RPI-TravelStick-T ... 552&sr=8-1

Not quite sore, but my thighs are definitely "awake" after hosting the bean bag toss game at the school yesterday. I don't know how many times I squatted to pick up those bags, but I had a blast with the kids and my behind could use the help.

Foam rolling is awfully painful when you first try it (maybe it was just me?) but then it gets to be something you want to do often. It helps break down/release the fascia and releases the lactic acid buildup (or so I've been told)- it's worth a shot! It hurts oh so good. I really want to purchase one for myself. I just use the one at the gym. Here are some illustrated ways to use your roller: http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/se ... lease.html

So sore right now. I didnt do anything yesterday but Monday and Tuesday plus sitting at desk at work for extended periods/sleeping funny has given me really sore shoulders. I find the roller really helps, as does more exercise.
I've just tried to set up my desk at work so ill be less sore but we shall see.
