Yeah, today's weather is hardly ideal! I know why too. I brought my bike. I even told a friend of mine that we should go for a ride this weekend. Of course, this means the weather here will doom all of my biking plans and make me wonder why I brought my bike to begin with.

I saw that too! Also, I'm trying to convince Food Fantasies to carry Go Max Go candy bars, so please, for my sake, request them next time you're in!

If you haven't tried the Upton's Naturals chorizo at FF, you're missing out. That shiitake is amazing.

Also, let me point out that I'm working downtown for the summer and I LOVE IT. I love biking to work in the morning, I love biking through downtown to get home, I love the farmers market!

Yeah, the farmers' market is awesome! I got some amazing radishes and red leaf lettuce last weekend!

My husband is running Grandma's Marathon in MN on the 18th, so I'm going to be out of town... bummer!

Yeah, it's not so bad in the mornings, and I don't care how sweaty I get on the way home. Around 4, I go for a 15 minute walk and I'm thankful to be getting back into the AC when I'm done!

kdub, if you can't come on the 17th, we should reschedule. Hmm. The 24th is no good for me, because MBM and I are going to see The Thermals in St. Louis the night before and I will probably still be wiped on Friday. What about the 25th?

Any suggestions for a vegan (or vegan-friendly) bakery within easy driving distance? My best friend is trying to plan a baby shower for me, and she wants to order a vegan cake from somewhere, but I have no idea where to suggest. I told her if nothing else, we can get a regular cake and then make vegan cupcakes or something, but I think she really wants to do something special if possible.

Oof. Well, Sweet Art in St. Louis does vegan cupcakes, but I'm not sure they do special order cakes. There's a bakery at Strawberry Fields in Urbana that had a lot of vegan baked goods and cupcakes. They might be able to do a cake.

I'm the worst person and I've let this thread die, but Food Fantasies now has vegan cupcakes. The spiced chai cherry aren't very spicy but they're so far my favorites. The red velvet are colored with beets and that makes MBM think they have an earthy taste but I can't tell. The lemon filled were a little tough. We haven't tried the cookies and cream yet.

Oh and once upon a time (like, 2 weeks ago) we got a couple loaves of sourdough bread from FF that was vegan. That was pretty awesome.
