You guys, everyone showed up to work early today. Every time I started to think, "Okay, I can light up my earwax now!", someone would walk into the room and start talking to me. It was so frustrating! It's not like I can hide in the bathroom with the wood's lamp, because there's no outlet in the bathroom and the cord has to stretch all the way into the office. I'll have to continue to wait for a day when I am all alone. Sorry!

I think my dry, flaky earwax is just the wet, goopy earwax that has dried up. The worst is when I itch my ear with my pinky and come away with a small ball of orange earwax and there's no tissue. What do you do with that?

mine's quite moist, generally ranging in consistency from chocolate syrup to peanut butter. but once i leaned over my desk at work and a big hard chunk of wax fell out of my left ear--big enough that i heard it land. it was dry and sort of fibrous, like a scab. for a second i thought maybe i was wrong to think that roaches burrowing into ear canals was mostly urban myth and that one had died and started to decompose in my head. but no, it was just a really extreme gob of wax. it freaked me out for a whole day.

Whoa... That is crazy. M uncle used to let me (disgusting 7 year old kid) poke around his scalp/ears while in search for some gold... or at least dandruff or other gross things. Once I dislodged a huge earwax chunk from his ear. I remember it looked like a super tiny soft caramel candy with skin flakes and tiny hairs in it... When I pulled it out, my uncle was really happy! He told me he could hear so much better. But when I look back on that, I can't believe I TOUCHED HIS EARWAX WITH MY FINGERS!!! Ahhh... Freaks me out.

You know how white clothing or shoes glow under a black light? That's what the earwax did! It was really cool! I didn't think it would fluoresce as well as it did. I have learned something new today.

I posted that quickly from work right after I tried the experiment. I was so nervous that someone would walk in and be like "what are you doing??" so I locked all the doors. And I had to turn all the lights off so the black light could show up.
I hid in the dark shining a Wood's Lamp on my earwax. I hope you all appreciate that.

Yes, but I'd like to know the thought process behind it, as well. I mean, how does one decide, "hmmm I think this would be something worth taste testing...."

i like putting things in my mouth adam, are you a booger eater? i tasted my own earwax when i was a kid for the record. And I have eaten a booger or ten in my life. Recently I had a co worker who would gag at the idea of boogers, so I did eat one in front of him to bum him out.
