I'm visiting my parents in Port Angeles, WA this weekend and we're going to take a day trip on Friday to Vancouver Island. We won't have a car so we're pretty much confined to Victoria. My mom wants to go to Butchart Gardens and that's the only thing on the agenda so far. What else should we do? Also, what's a good omni- & vegan-friendly restaurant?

For lunch go to Mo:le or Lotus Pond, for dinner go to the Pink Bicycle and make sure you get the truffle fries! As for what to do...the museum is pretty great. Beacon Hill Park is lovely and you can check out the baby goats at the petting zoo! Walks around the inner harbour are rather popular.

I make a Vancouver Island thread and everyone ignores it!
Cafe Ceylon is really good too. But I definitely second Mo:Le for lunch, especially as a both omni and vegan-friendly place. If you are into raw vegan food, Bliss is next door. It is pricy but good for what it is. The museum is fun.
You know Butchart Gardens is pretty much outside of Victoria, right? It'll be an expensive cab or a rather annoying/long bus ride.

Hey, thanks for the ideas! Sorry I missed your Vancouver Island thread!!
I didn't know Butchart Gardens was so far outside the city. Not sure if my mom knows either. Thanks for the heads up!

I'd also recommend Mole....love that restaurant. if you like tea, I'd check out Silk Road Tea Co. I really like the shop and all the tea accessories they have.....long walk along the ocean to the Terry Fox memorial.

Careful about the cupcakes. Apparently not all of them are vegan anymore (not including the "mancakes"!)
