I will be camping that weekend, but would love to go at another time!
And calcy, just move here already. There is the cutest house for rent in our neighborhood, and Lard knows Denver kids could use a good math teacher!

I am open to any and all suggestions! It will be my one day in Denver that is not conference related, so I am pretty flexible.

Denver, I am in you! Hee. You are very grid-like.
I'm in Pizza Fusion, to be precise, having pizza and salad and ice tea and hoping they have vegan brownies! I went to Wholefoods for the first time, and I fell in love!
Tomorrow will be Watercourse breakfast, Steamin Demon lunch and City O City dinner. Nom. Oh yeah, and that conference thing and I have to so a speech, whatever. You have lovely noms!

Denver! My roommate and I are headed up for the Denver VegFest- anyone want to carpool/hangout? We will arrive the first and leave the sixth and have zero plans (um, except for VegFest and wingz).
Also, I am hoping to sign a lease for an apartment while I am out there, so if anyone has any suggestions for areas to look at or apartments that you know of, I would love to hear them!

Are you living with someone or alone? If you want to be easy biking distance to downtown (and WF and Watercourse and City O), I would check in Baker, Capitol Hill, City Park West, Congress Park, Whittier, Curtis Park, and Five Points. The Highlands is also pretty cool, and parts of it might be more affordable. We never look at anything east of Colorado (there are some great places in east Park Hill, but it's a little far for me), west of Federal, north of 38th, or south of Alameda.
There is a really amazing place for rent (we considered breaking our lease for it) in the same row as some friends of ours, and it's probably $1100-$1200. Beautiful, huge old two bedroom townhouse that's three blocks from Watercourse, with a patio and a bonus room and updated everything. It would be awesome for roommates if you are bringing one.

I used to live in Capitol Hill, and now live in Congress Park, and both are fantastic (and right next to each other). Also, I second most of what Abbie said, and would like to add that Denver is the shiznazzle.

Klutzy, if you want to let us know your budget and what type of place you are looking for, I will keep an eye out for you and peruse CL a little.

I am moving out there alone (with my cat) and I'm totally fine with a cheap studio or one bedroom- like $600. Is that reasonable?
I'm really excited! Also, thanks!

Let's all move to Denver!
Has anyone been to the pirate ship? I want to go but I'm not sure if I $20 want to go.

I went, and it was pretty cool. They were clearly pretty mindful that a lot of kids (and others) would be coming to see "real pirate treasure" and set things up accordingly, but there was also some great info on the slave trade, other pirate practices at the time, etc. A really well done exhibit. It might not be worth $20 on its own, but it also gets you admission to the rest of the museum, which is huge and well worth it. Also, I don't actually remember it being that expensive, but I could be wrong.

The website said $20. Maybe you were just so caught up in your pirate-related daydreams that you forgot the price? I will mention it to my roomie.

You will be here on the first Saturday though, right? That museum (and most museums) will be free, but the special pirate exhibit might not be included.

I live on the West Side (Las Alma, Lincoln Park, West Baker area), which I love. We pay $600 for a 1 bedroom (double-barreled?) shotgun duplex with a little basement office. And room for a little garden. It's close to downtown, Cap-Hill, South Broadway etc. and it's just a couple of blocks away from the Santa Fe Arts district, where there are vegan croissants. Our neighborhood is a little scruffier than say, Cap-Hill (where we used to live) or Wash Park. But we love, love, love it. I love, love, love Denver, I guess.

The jig is up.) Anyway, the exhibit was awesome, but I wouldn't have paid $20 for it. Though it should probably be noted that I am hella cheap and wouldn't pay $20 for much.

Luckyklutz, although it was a few years ago, my apartment in Denver was 1 bedroom and it was under $600. Denver is pretty affordable.

I don't have any advice on good places to rent since I'm doomed to live in the suburbs because of Denver's pit bull ban. However, I wanted to let you know that I'm really excited that you're going to move here.

I want September 2nd to be here now so we can eat wingz and go look at mountains and you guys can feed me water when I pass out from dehydration due to altitude!
