I've got:

Principles of Microeconomics
Intermediate Spanish III
Contemporary Issues in Professional Writing
Writing for the Workplace
Copy and Line Editing

Yeah... I just switched my major from english lit to professional writing. I'm excited to have some writing classes finally, but looking at them now I'm realizing that they all sound pretty boring! Hopefully not though. My friend just took copy & line editing and it didn't seem too bad. Spanish is always good, and I took college level econ in high school so that should be pretty easy.

the death and dying class: I took a class called that at TempleU a while ago and it was excellent!

My major is Printmaking and I am taking:
Major's studio (mostly self directed studio class)
Intro to the discipline (technical drills)
Screenprinting
Intaglio
Enameling (this is a metal smithing class, not print like my others)
and Modern Chinese Art.

augh, 5 studios and art history. I am going to die of a stress implosion.

Most people take 3 studios and 1-2 liberal arts classes per semester here. We pay by the semester though, so I always take 6 classes, and I have finished all but 1 of my liberal arts courses so I am taking 5 studios. I have 36hrs/week of in-class time, then for each studio course I'd say I spend 5 hrs in the studio outside of classes per week, and about 10hrs in studio on the weekends. So, at the bare minimum I've got like 71 hrs of work for school weekly, assuming everything works on the first try and that I spend no time working on art history.
They should be paying me overtime.

NO SLEEP, NEVER SLEEP.
thank goodness the semester is only 3 months long.

I'm jealous! I had no idea Professional Writing is something offered in other schools. Seems way more practical than Religious Studies.

Wow, really? That sucks a lot, for not knowing what books to buy, not knowing where your classes are, and for being stuck with whatever's left after all the upperclassmen who've waited until the week before classes to register have registered.

Yeah, it's a bit weird, but I guess they want us to meet with our advisers several times to plan our schedules out. Fortunately my major only has around 20 undergrads in it so class availability shouldn't be too bad, and then I'd like to continue French and Astronomy.

The year afterwards I'm going to university to study Japanese and Spanish.

Amazing! If you ever need any help or want to talk about her work/brainstorm, just e-mail/PM me as I'm pretty well read in her writings, journals, letters, biographies and some criticism. I hate to name a favorite poet (I mean, how can I choose just one!) but she's definitely one of them. I especially admire her for her incredible work with imagery. I get chills just thinking about her abilities...

I'm into the last 7 classes of my acting degree... aka: The studies classes and open electives I've kept until now.

I'm doing two summer classes which start next week.
-Acting for the Camera (my last acting class :( )
-Intro to Drawing (My last fine arts elective outside of my major)

In the fall I've got a load of essay heavy classes. I hate essays.
-Historical Approaches to Theatre (universally agreed upon as the Worst Class Ever)
-Studies in Theatre of the Middle Ages and 16th Century Italy (because Shakespeare's Comedies and Romances was full)
-Poetry
-German Language and Culture II + the Lab for it
-Introduction to Linguistics

I'm finishing up my masters program in the fall so I only have two classes. Adult Literacy and Methods of Discourse Analysis. Should be interesting.

This will be the first autumn in a long time (6 years!) that I won't be taking classes. I'm afraid I'm going to feel lost and empty. I do want to say, though, for the couple people I see taking feminist research/methodology classes, that was one of the best classes I ever took. Of course it depends on your prof, etc. but I was expecting it to be a drag and it was just fantastic.

Hopefully (fingers crossed) Typography, Illustration, Basic Graphic Design and History of Communication Graphics.

But I have to take more tests before I find out if I can attend this semester. Transferring colleges is a pain!

My freshman year, 4 out of my 5 classes were picked for me... and the 5th one, I had like 10 to choose from. It was weird. I had no say in what profs i had or when my classes were, but luckily it worked out really well all in all!

I'm in a similar boat. I move in August 20th and then classes start on the 24th. I was automatically put in the Honors seminar. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELSE I'M TAKING. ISN'T BEING A FIRSTYEAR GREAT?

don't panic first year students! you'll probably have no trouble getting in to classes unless you want in to a really popular elective. Colleges and Universities make sure there is room in all the required 101s for you guys.
If you're going standard liberal arts it'll probably be a lot of Comp/lit101 your choice of History101, Some sort of Maths101, etc. You don't have to fight the upperclassmen for spots!

Oh man...all this makes me REALLY want to make it into the US to study! Over here in Singapore there are no "classes", just majors in university I guess?

And there're little prospects for an arts student over here, our niche being the life sciences.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm stoked, especially since the class is with a professor that I really like.

History Senior Capstone Seminar (This should be pretty interesting. . . the course mostly focuses on historiography and research methods)
Human Biology (for my science gen. ed. requirement)
Children's Literature (Just an elective. So excited about this!)

Usually I take four classes per semester, but I'm having a slacker semester because I'm taking a summer class right now (Decline and Fall of the British Empire).
