I was there. Not sure if I met you though! We got a box full of tons of goodies and now I'm crashing from my sugar high haha. Everything tasted so good, I was amazed. Especially the kolaches, the almond toffee, and Taraneh's mini apple pies. YUM. There should be a vegan bake sale every month! Here is some of what we got:

I wish I could have been there. It's time to cram for finals at this time. Maybe we should do one in the Arlington/Fort Worth area next year?

There is a new vegan restaurant called the V Spot opening across the street from the beauty bar, next to the Pearl Cup. Yay!

Yes, it is right across from the place the vegan bake sale was held. On Mcmillan and Henderson in Dallas

My friends just bought Veggie Garden (on Arapaho in Richardson) and they're making it 100% vegan! Please go give them your love and money. They are super awesome AR/environmental/political activists (I'm vegan partly because of their influence), and they love food, so they'll do it right. Not sure if it's already open or if they're renovating (or whatever) and re-opening at some point, but please hit them up for delicious foods if you're in the area (or, you know, make the trip).

Awesome! I knew Veggie Garden was selling a while ago, but I wasn't sure if it would still be a vegan restaurant, so that's great to hear! Do you know at all what kind of food it's going to be?

Do you know at all what kind of food it's going to be? Oh, sorry, I just saw this. I think they kept the same menu but just got rid of the non-vegan stuff. So it's still Chinese food and a lot of mock meat, just no crab rangoon or (non-dairy) ice cream.

Is V-spot open for real?? I haven't heard a single thing about it in a while!
ETA: I just saw they have a facebook page with a phone number. I called the number, and no one answered...And, the web-site doesn't appear to have any info on it. Hmph.
