Great to know that the recipe fors with other egg replacers as well. I have accees to Orgran but not to Energ-y. Both seem to have the same ingredients though.

I never used it so I tipped it all in the same container. Be super patient though, and the bit about adding the dry to wet ingredients is really important. *edited to say I might be lying. I think it's actually a mix with this: http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/471310_Allergycare_Whole_Egg_Replacer__200g.htmlHey, thanks for replying. :) I'm really not sure what went wrong here. Basically as soon as I took the water/egg replacer mix out of the microwave and started beating it, it went completely flat (no bubbles), and it was beaten for well over ten minutes but didn't form any peaks or bubbles at all. I was thinking about adding some pectin, since the recipe for No Egg meringues has that, but I've no idea whether it would make any difference. Anybody got any ideas?

If you used the orgran stuff, that's probably why it didn't work. Ener-g egg replacer has different ingredients in it and since egg whites are such a tricky thing to replace, I'm guessing you just have to use that product or the stuff that messy veggie used. I found it on Amazon UK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ener-G-Egg-Repl ... 528&sr=8-1

Has anyone made the Strawberry Charlotte? I'm asking because I want to, but the mixture has agar but isn't heated and my whole vegan life I've read you have to heat it to activate it. The photo is so pretty.

I think it's definitely worth investing in getting some of the other stuff shipped to you... One other thing, if you don't have a microwave (I don't), use water that's just about to boil (but don't boil the egg replacer itself).

I finally got to flip through this book tonight in B&N, so pretty! I was showing Brian some of the pictures and even though he just told me to get rid of some of my cookbooks because I have too many, he told me to order it from amazon because everything looks so good.

I don't even know where I am going to start..but I AM going to start and make several things this week. I'm thinking Samoa Tart and Mojito Sugar Cookies :)

Everyone was VERY impressed. And one of the other women there had a dairy allergy and was grateful to have a dessert she could eat. PLUS ONE FOR VEGANISM.

I have black velvet cupcakes in the oven as I type. I also have some attractive purple splotches on my hands from pureeing blackberries. It looks badass!

Any thoughts on which dessert to make for a Halloween potluck? The candy apple cookies looked like they would be a cute choice, but everything else in the fall chapter looked good too....

I made the buttery pecan icecream for Xmas dessert and it was a hit! So tasty. The carrot cake icecream is next on my list... just need to make some room in the freezer first!

I made the Cranberry Streusel Bars for a holiday breakfast treat alternative to muffins. SO GOOD. I will note, however, that I wasn't really crazy about it right out of the oven. It seemed like it needed to sit overnight to kind of mellow out the cardamom flavor and come together. But that next day...YUM.

Maggie Muggins wrote: The book looks beautiful and I've been debating about ordering it. My only question is, do many of the recipes call for hard to find ingredients? And by hard to find I don't mean things like tofutti or egg replacer but things like maca, matcha powder, kefir, etc. I'd like to know whether there are things like tofutti or egg replacer in many of the recipes! I like that Isa and Terry's recipes don't use those.

I impulse ordered this on Wednesday and it just came (man, I love Amazon Prime!). What a gorgeous book! My husband was looking over my shoulder as I flipped through it and he was all, "Ooh! Make that first. Oh, wait. What about that? Dang!" I can't wait to try some stuff.

Honestly the only reason I came to this page was to find out how to make the macarons. REALLY? MINT CHOCOLATE MACARONS! I can't wait until your book comes out.
