Veggie Galaxy Tasting Dinner

Hey all, we're having our first and maybe only tasting dinner before the diner actually opens, still slated for late August. The price is absurdly reasonable, and you'll be stuffed with a full belly and smile by the time you shuffle out of the VP/Passim "garden" level, and on to the sweaty streets of Cambrige. Hope some of you can make it, all info below.

Please make sure to mention any food allergies when making your reservation

$25, including tax and beverage,
but not gratuity
(beer and wine will be available at extra charge)

Potato Pancake with Dill Sour Cream and Spiced Apple Sauce

Chipotle Black Bean Burger with Sweet Corn Mash, Tarragon Basil Pesto & Pickled Red Onions

Smoked Tofu Reuben Sandwich with Sweet and Sour Pickled Cabbage, Basil & Horseradish Russian Mayo

Housemade Seitan Meatloaf, Sauteed Bright Lights Chard, & Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Smokey Balsamic Glaze

zomg. just sent off my reservation request. everything on that menu sounds phenomenal. better get my pants taken out before august 1. oh, who am i kidding, i'll just wear my sweatpants cut-offs and line the pockets w/ plastic so i can take some extra din-dinz to go.

Frownz. I had to bow out. In my vegan food frenzy excitement, I forgot about a prior commitment. Sigh. Everybody take detailed notes about every single bite you take - every single chew you chew! -- AND POST THEM HERE PLZ! I will eat vicariously.

They capped the reservations at 80 and I was the 81st person to RSVP. D'OH.

But Adam was super sweet in the email, saying that if anyone turns down their space, I'll be the first in. Yay! If I don't make it, everyone take loads of food porn pictures and talk about how rad it is so that I'll stay excited for when the place opens!

I didn't get in :( Oh well... I'll just have to wait until they open. Although there was a hint at a second similar event before the open so I might get another chance.

Yayyy! We should see if they will let us all sit together! I think the last time I was there for a BVS event they had some bigger tables setup! I am taking tons of pics and blogging the shiitake out of it!

Who else is ridiculously excited for tomorrow?!

I'm showing off my car for possible selling at 4, that'll probably be done shortly after, and I'm planning on being in the Square around 5 or so. Gonna browse shops and what have you, and try to make it to Veggie Planet nice and early. What time are others planning on showing up? Maybe if we're clustered together before heading in, we'll have a higher chance of sitting together!

I am really excited to eat myself into a food coma and see people! I totally forgot that it was $25 though, whoops! I'll make it work. (I don't think it's too much, but if I remembered I wouldn't have spent so much at Whole Foods today). I'll probably head over to arrive around 6pm, maybe? It depends on if I'm riding my bike or taking the train.
