PPK Gathering Asheville Food - August 12-14

We are staying here:

Ok so now down to the food. Friday, we may be coming in late and our preference may be the usual stop at Rosetta's but it is up for discussion.

The shared meals will most likely be:

Friday - Dinner
Saturday - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Sunday - Breakfast

(PS - We are leaving Tuesday and have a campsite until Tuesday so if anyone wants to stay or what not, feel free and we can make plans for other meals)

So in the past, I've done a chili for Saturday dinner and I'm up for that. We can do baked potatoes, hot dogs and chili like last year?

Lunch on Saturday is a good time to not cook and eat salads including things like Chickpea salad sandwiches.

I'm up for any ideas or any commitments of "I'm bringing THiS" :)

This is not food related. Is the camp site not booked until Friday? So y'all will check in Friday evening?

2 campsites - One booked Friday to Sunday, One booked Friday to Tuesday. I think check-in is anytime after 1pm or what not. If Jilly/Bergedy show up at our house, we may roll them in the car at 6am and get going to get there earlier. Otherwise, we may start Thursday, check into a motel along 81 and then get there earlyish Friday. The two previous years, we have left around 9am and got there around 7pm so I'm going with 7pm as the estimated time of arrival although we will try for earlier.

I haven't asked Vantine but I'm thinking that I should assign one of the campsites to you or Vantine. It is already paid for either way. I _think_ if you give my name and we aren't there they should let you in but who knows with them. It may just be easier to put someone's name in that will be there before us and I believe Vantine will be arriving earlier Friday.

Last year I think I checked in using Pandacookie's name. They didn't seem to care. I sent you my information just in case. I will bring some cold salads to share for Saturday. Maybe a kale-y thing, chickpea - tomato salad ...who knows?!? We will have pie iron sandwiches, I believe. I have an extra pie iron.

What do we want to do for breakfast on Saturday AM?

Hey...I don't know when its opening but there is a new veg restaurant in the works, right on the way to The Hop (ice creams!). If its open by then, that might be a good evening dinner out (no worrying about parking downtown!)

As long as I get ice cream, it's all good. Parking at Rosetta's is sort of a pain in the neck.

It isn't bele chere weekend this year, so it won't be as bad as previous years to be downtown.
If anyone has ice cream flavour requests, let me know and I will pass them along.

And I love rosettas.

For breakfast, we could do tofu scramble burritos. I could bring soyrizo and tofu. Or just cereal.

For ice cream, cookies n cream or pb 'cup' (pb and chocolate somehow)

The Laughing Seed on Wall street downtown is our favorite! Is The Hop the new drive in veggie place that is opening? I live near Asheville, my very favorite place and I get there about once a week.

I love their ruben. I guess it's all personal taste since I'm not crazy about Rosetta's. Is the Hop vegan ice cream? I will have to check it out.

The Hop makes their own vegan ice cream and panda would know better but think they have about 4 vegan flavors at a time? They also have some vegan toppings and also make vegan ice cream shakes.

I love the kale and mashed potatoes as Rosetta's and I don't usually like mashed potatoes so that is saying something. Plus, I like the kombucha on tap. My husband likes their Buddha bowl.
