Hello!
I just released a brand new 86 page recipe zine. This one is entirely vegan and gluten-free, plus most of the recipes can easily be soy-free. It's all about cooking Ethiopian style dishes at home.

I brought the split pea w'et dish to a potluck yesterday it it got scrafed down quicker than mac n cheese, seitan stroganoff, AND tater tot casserole.

Thats some heavy competition to go up against and win people!!!

wish I woulda seen this yesterday. I made 3 dishes to go with the gluten free injera I bought and they were all kinda bland.

www.shebafoods.com they're in Oakland. Picked up a package at Rainbow grocery. They are good and look and feel like regular injera, but aren't as good or as sour..but gluten free!

Exciting - I just ordered one today! I have blown people away with Ethiopian recipes from Kittee's site and I can't wait to make more. Those black-eyed peas patties look awesome.

I just requested this as a gift and I'm randomly headed to an amazing store tomorrow (Kalyustan's) to buy various stuff I need anyway, and I bet there's a ton of stuff I should buy in preparation for Ethiopian yums too. hmm, grains like millet and teff? lotsa lentils/split peas? ooh spices! if any other great need-for-Ethiopian ingredient leaps out at anyone please share.

yellow split peas, red dal, split and skinned urad dal, if you wanna make the injera in the zine. berbere if you don't want to make it. onions and garlic...

yay! you can get really great shiro and berbere near the corner of ne mlk and knott. it might be a little south of there, it's near queen of sheba, but up a block or so. or, you can make it! post pictures! the lack of pictures in this thread is giving me hives.
