Hey peeps! I need some help. Ive been using Urban Decay 24/7 black eye pencil, it glides on really well and stays on forever but sharpening it sucks, I always end up with one piece of the wood longer than the others and it scratches me. Maybe i'm sharpening it wron? I'd rather get a click one similar to the covergirl one I used to use in my pregan days.

What brands do you love? What's vegan at Sephora? I am going to the mall today and they have one there.

Urban Decay makes their eyeliners so that you can only sharpen it well with their sharpener. So of course rather than change brands, I just bought their sharpener. So I'm no help for other eyeliners, but this is a common problem.

I like to use a small angled brush better than a pencil, but I haven't settled on what to use it with yet (so helpful!). I've tried mineral powder liner from Alima, which was good but a bit messy sometimes, and cream liner from Smashbox (wore off really quickly). Next I'm going to try MAC's Fluidline in blacktrack (the only color I know of that's vegan).

I'm a big fan of this and I suck at makeup.

I know it's not a click up pencil (can't think of any offhand that are vegan), but I really love Bobbi Brown gel liner (applied with a thin brush). Super creamy and last really well. There is actually a decent amount of vegan stuff at Sephora. I like Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay (of course), Korres, and the Blinc Kiss me Mascara. Here's a list of some vegan products carried by various companies that may be helpful if you haven't come across it already:

I want to second needing the UD sharpner for all the UD pencils, I spent years being angry at my eyeliner before realising that!

My favourite eyeliner's the new Urban Decay ink for eyes, it's amazing! http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/inkforeyes.cfm

I use a variety of brands of loose mineral eyeshadow in dark colours and a dense angled brush. Works like a charm!

me too. I get perfect, perfect lines using the small side of this brush:

I usually tap some shadow into the lid of the container, spray my brush with water, and then tap into the minerals and apply.

I typically either use fluidline or just black powder eyeshadow with a brush.

ELF makes a click up eyeliner that has a cream shadow on the other end - it's a part of their Studio line.

As a Vegan I am simply loving the new 24/7 waterproof liquid eyeliner from Urban Decay. I have reviewed it on my blog here http://www.asavegan.co.uk/?p=451

I hope that you find it useful!

I had the SAME problem with my 24/7 eyeliners, and it was so frustrating! Finally, I found a sharpener that was perfectly shaped for it, and makes a fresh sharp point like you'd expect when you open it up. It's a double-ended one I got from a chain drugstore, the brand is Styli-Style. Works PERFECTLY. Completely was my UD pencil's saving grace, I was about to chuck it in the pile of makeup that only old ladies have accrued.

I use the ELF felt tip liner too. It makes me look like I actually know how to put on eyeliner.

I second ink for eyes. It lasts forever too - I wear it every day and it lasts like 9 months! The brush it comes with kind of sucks but I use a bigger angled brush and it's great.

I use ELF - it is the darkest out of everything I have tried and the smoothest. I have UD's 24/7 and MACs fluid line...Both are good but not crisp and clean...I am a goth girl at heart - the perfect black liner has been my goal since high school!

I use the ecotools eyeliner brush with mineral makeup. I love it because if I want a bolder look I can wet it or put it on dry to be more subtle. II've used it for so long I can no longer make pencils work for me.

Whether they are worth the money or not is another issue, but at least some of the Chanel eye liners are vegan (and they don't test). The Stylo Yeux waterproof are made from vegetable and mineral waxes + mineral pigments. You have to call and ask about carmine though because they list all pigments used in anything on all packaging now.

I have incredibly sensitive skin and eyes, and these are one of the few that work for me.

I haven't checked the hard pencils; these ones are the soft twist up kind. The colors are more subtle but go on easily and stay on.
