My mom won't join Facebook. She's heard it's "addicting", which is the worst thing anyone can say about something.

Haha! I know a couple of people who also have "interested in men and women" on their profiles, and I'm pretty sure they don't know what it means (we're talking super-conservative types here).

I am so glad my mother doesn't have a facebook account, because she is the type of person who'd need me to set it up for her, and would then ask me about every single thing I posted and not listen when I'd try to explain.

My mom and my mother in law call each other to discuss and decode our facebook statuses. They're farmville bff's now. It's scary. At family events, they talk about their farmville friends nonstop.

My dad recently joined Facebook. Every time I post a status update, whether it be a joke, a quote or something that's a genuine update, he asks me what it means (in person):

"So you tried to turn blood into white wine?"
"That was a Buffy quote."
"Ohhhh."

"So what do you want to be forgiven for?"
"What?"
"Your facebook status."
"That was an Alanis quote."
"Ohhh."

It would be hilarious if it wasn't really annoying.

My dad just stalks PPKers... like, I posted a link to vegetarian wing night that's happening near my school and Larisa commented that she wished PA were smaller so she could make it, and my dad said "[larisa's town] 3 hours away." (yes, thank you, we know how to use google maps too).

Also I'll get random texts from my mom saying she and my dad were looking at pictures of AV on facebook, or pictures of Isa (well, who wouldn't, she's so pretty), etc...

Mine was. She posted twice. Her name was "DHAC's mom."
Isa's mom was on too quite a while back, "kickassmomandnurse."

My mum has a facebook account but she seems to only check it about once a month. She just posts deep and meaningful quotes about politics or feminism or something on my wall, it's kind of nice actually. Thanks mum! But I'm scared of her seeing pictures of me drinking or getting rowdy or anything, so I edited my profile so she can't see certain things.

My mom is super liberal and isn't offended by dirty jokes or swears. She "likes" anything I post that's feminist, which is probably 1/3 of my pictures. So she's a great facebook friend.

On the other hand, my dad sometimes hijacks her account. That has less predictable results.

My mother never could understand the concept of seeing non-mutual friends' comments on my updates, and would get really angry about all these random people posting on her face (what she calls FB profiles). She also likes to just find a random image or update and post any old news or ask a random question about something completely unrelated when she wants to get in touch with me.

I used to get phone calls from her often asking why she couldn't log into myface.

me too! I got one from her yesterday that was incomprehensible but I think it was about honoring the women in your life because that is what they are usually about.

My Dad has his own facebook and for a while he was trying to write to his friends but he would just post everything on his own wall.

My Mom has a facebook so she can stalk some of my friends and some family members. One of our family members de-friended everyone in the family but me so my Mom now will log in to my account so she can read about that person.

It is strange to me that my Dad is an engineer, built computers, currently builds robots and facebook baffles him.
