If you are going to do the Character Breakfast with Livi, call ahead to arrange a vegan breakfast! Totally! I heard they make gluten free vegan mickey waffles at chef mickey;s so I'm psyched. I think we're doing a Cinderella meal? The MIL is planning. Are you doing Cinderella's Royal Table? I used to work there. The menu sucks and is very limited. People don't really go there for the food, though. The standard veg meal is pasta with grilled vegetables and sorbet for dessert. There's a rice pilaf that normally comes with fish, so if you order gluten free, you might end up with that. And grilled vegetables. The chefs there are not very creative.

Apparently it's at somethingy-something at Epcot as opposed to Cinderella's? Does that help?

That'd be Akershus in Norway. I think they have a similar setup to CRT, where the princesses all come around to the tables. I've never eaten there, and can't remember reading any vegan reports about the food there. I've heard good things about it from omnis, though. I'll be interested to find out what they end up serving you.

Infusion Tea is really great. The menu is vegetarian/vegan http://www.infusionorlando.com/index.html . Infusion's Pesto panini is so good. I consider both Infusion and Dandelion to be lunchy options - lots of salads, soups and sandwiches. What area of Orlando are you staying near? If you wind up going to Dandelion, there is a vegan bakery near them - Rhapsodic. Rhapsodic was good and they are super nice. Parking sucks over there, however. thank you so much for telling me about them V! they told me that w 24 hours notice they could make me a GF vegan key lime pie!!!!!

I am so happy for you, Appifanie! They had great food (I went with Bergedy). Drunken Monkey is good for sandwiches if you need something you can take with you to eat later. Loving Hut is near there as well. It's small and has more than one TV playing their bizarre TV network.

Okay, I think we have 8 nights to plan dinner for. My list of restaurants to try is:
Boma Jiko Sanaa Ohana Brown Derby Kouzzina Tusker House Planet Hollywood Hard Rock
(the last 2 are for the husband)
Is this a good list of places to try? Without going into details of the annoyingness that is unfolding for this trip, it's me, Livi, the husband, the 14 year old step son, the MIL and FIL and BIL. The in-laws go to Disney once a year at least, so I want to commandeer this trip. Are the places I picked awesome/worth it? Will picky SAD type eaters like them?

Good choices! This thread makes me nostalgic for Disney.
Has anyone recommended Ethos? Go to Ethos!

I'm leaving Orlando as I type. I went to universal, and though I didn't get to go to Ethos, Drunken Monkey or Babycakes like I wanted to, I didn't starve. FYI: if anyone stays at the Portofino their gelataria has sorbetto and a vegan protein bar(never seen this brand before) that I had for breakfast one morning. They also have soymilk available, and bagels in the morning (can't vouch for them, I'm not a carb heavy breakfast eater). The park itself has slim pickings, though Mythos in Islands has two dishes that are marked as able to be ordered vegan. The Portofino also had a pizzeria and the pizza was pretty good, in a pinch. They wouldn't let me replace the cheese with another veggie, though, so that was stupid.
Beware the acid pops in the wizarding world, they have egg whites. I nearly bought that and I wasn't expecting to have to check ingredients on a non-creamy lollipop. The iced butterbeer is like a cream milkshake, but vegan.

Tusker House in Animal Kingdom has gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookies, but you have to ask for them. Their buffet is also vegan friendly. Sounds like you already have a lot of meals planned, but if you need to add another restaurant, I recommend going there.

Main street has rice dream and I think any table service restaurant can get it for you, if you call a few days ahead.
