Computers are leisurely, right?
Anyway, I've been having all this trouble with my stupid start menu in Vista. (as in, it's disappeared.) I think I finally decided that I'll just upgrade my system to Windows 7. That should fix it, right? I don't really want to spend $120 on the upgrade if it won't fix anything. Seriously, I've had this issue for two months. I had figured out that it was related to the windows updates, and every time I would remove them and restore the system, it would just download the darned things again because it won't let me turn them off!

I only use a PC at work, but we switched to Windows 7 a while ago and it's light years better than Vista. I don't know if it'll fix you issue, but it's worth the upgrade regardless in terms of user experience.

I'm a pretty big fan of it. If you have more than one PC, you can get a 3-pack of Windows 7 upgrades for $150. That's only $50/pc!

Upgrade is a misnomer even; if you have Windows Vista, you can "upgrade" to 7 with a complete wipe and everything is like brand new.

My Mac savvy boyfriend loves 7. He put it on his gaming computer and says it's as good or better than XP. I have it on my computer, and I've been much happier with it than with the crap-fest that was Vista.

The best windows in a decade, easy. Heaps better than vista.
Worth $120? I dunno. As a student I got it for free (though I had to pinky swear to de-install when I graduate)

I'm a PC and Windows 7 was Apple's idea.

I absolutely love Windows 7. I use it at work and now I'm spoiled for the crappy Vista on my home computers.

I use 7 at work and have Vista at home and....don't notice a difference.
I mean - there's obviously a difference, they're not the same, but I can't find the advantages.

Yeah, I dunno. I mostly use Macs and unix systems, except for video games. For that purpose, Windows 7 beats the heck out of XP and Vista. You do have to be pretty careful about hardware compatibility-- my monitor, of all things, didn't work properly with Win7. If you have anything reasonably standard, though (not some Gateway thing that you bought because it was cheap and you didn't want to wait for mail-order) you'll probably be fine.
I have had startlingly few problems with it beyond that. The PC admin here runs Windows 7 on his own workstation. He ran Vista for a while and says 7 is much better.
Overall, the whole "not as bad as you expected" thing is pretty much right-on.
