Ok there were a few last night that I guessed at what they were but one I could not figure out at all.

A girl (around 11 or 12 yrs old) was wearing a nude unitard with a cape. She kind of looked like little red riding hood without a dress.

Any guesses?

Ok, I should've asked for good guesses. I figured it was something from popular culture that I wasn't aware of because well you know I am still living in the 80s.

Did the red cape have stripes on it or anything? Maybe she was a piece of bacon.

Ronald Reagan?

There was a guy in a Ronald Reagan mask at the Halloween party I went to. He just looked at me and didn't say anything. It was forking terrifying.

When they're young and I don't understand their costume, I assumed they picked it out themselves and their parents went with it.

There were A LOT of adults who I couldn't tell what they were.
I did see a Keyboard Cat though, which was awesome.

I went as a deviled egg one year. Nobody got it. They were all "I get that you're an egg, but why do you have horns?" Or "I see the devil horns and tail, but what's with the yellow circle on your stomach?"

I really didn't think it was that esoteric. It's possible those people were just really stupid...

Ha! I was "the cat's pajamas" one year when I was a kid, which consisted of cat-print flannel pajamas and cat slippers. NO ONE got it (in their defense, it was a pretty lame costume). A lot of people thought I was supposed to be a baby (?).

I saw a lot of adults this year - no costume with plastic bags wanting more candy...

My son was a praying mantis one year.
I've been a hippie for the past 18 years. My sin said it can't count since I look that way all year.
But I did make fake dreads a couple years ago & won a half day off at my office.

as for the costume in the OP, I'm stumped too.

At one party, there was this guy & girl in all black. He had spiky red hair & 2 wheel things. She had a giant key. Well done costumes. Turns out they were characters from a Kingdom Hearts game. I never got around to playing those.

My boyfriend has a Ronnie mask over the lamp in his living room. When you turn out the lights, the eyes and mouth glow with an inner light that makes me want to poop my pants.

This year we actually saw a group of un-costumed teenagers drive up to a house, get out with their plastic goodie bags, and ask for candy. Then they got back into the car and drove to the next house with a light on.

Seriously. Could you be any lazier?
