I used to go there a bunch for shows and stuff. Is there some vegan stuff going on there?

I am from and currently live in Cincinnati. There are some vegans here in the city.
I would be down for some kind of meet up if others would be interested.

I just moved here! I've been here about three weeks now and I've already explored and found some cool places. I'll be watching this thread for more suggestions, though! What are some favorites and hidden gems?
So far we love Melt, the Comet, MOTR pub, park + vine, Northslice pizza, and a burrito place called La Pinata near our apartment (actually in Colerain, but cincinnati enough.) Also the zoo!

Amma's Kitchen is one of our favorites, they have a full vegan menu on Wednesday and daily have 80% vegan with the menu very explicit about what has dairy. Delicious! Melt is great, lots of luck at Sitwell's Cafe in Clifton. Cilantro has the best tofu in their stir fry and Mac's Pizza Pub has 2 vegan pizzas that are both delicious and use ingredients from the Clifton Natural Foods two stores down.

I have been trying to get to Aquarius Star/Om Cafe, since I have heard they have a ton of vegan options, but haven't been able to make it there yet. As well, i've never been to the Loving Hut.

My fiance and I live near UC and frequent all the places on Ludlow quite often, we also go to the McMillan almost as much.

We enjoy going downtown to the museums, going to Reds games, going to UC football games and enjoying the many parks around!

I thought that was where this thread may be going.

It sounds like both of you have covered the really good spots in Cincinnati, Amma's, the Comet and Cilantro. If you stay in Clifton Myra's is a good place to check out, it's on Calhoon near urban outfitters, they have a wide mix of soups and other dishes. Maybe 70% of their stuff is or can be made vegan . They also have vegan baked goods sometimes. I stressed this before in the Ohio thread but Tuckers on Vine is the place to go if you are vegan, a true Cincinnati institution with vegan options abound. Maybe we could get a group together to get brunch there in a few weeks?

Ah Myra's!! How could I forget? My fiance and I had our first date there.. "awww."

I certainly haven't been to Tucker's, but I have heard about it on occasion. I'll be out of the country until the second week of Sept, so it looks like we have some time to plan!

Isn't all of Hamilton County really Cincinnati?

My mom lives on the east side and I am there every once in awhile. At least I will know where to eat because of this thread!

That's what I thought, but I wasn't totally sure. Some of my mail says Cincinnati, some says Colerain or Colerain Township, and I got one the other day that said Bevis, which was a new one.

We're in Columbus but frequent Cinci. Don't have much to add except that our family of five give Mac's Pizza and Pub 10 thumbs up. Their vegan pizzas are AMAZING!!

Is there any interest in coming back to the idea of having folks meet up? I want to get some new blood in my social circle.

Sure lets go for it, are people still open to Tuckers or would you want to try somewhere else?

Can I suggest Myra's or Mac's? I want to save Tucker's for a when its gets a bit cooler outside.

As well, just opening this up to anyone, I don't work too far from Amma's kitchen and would be open to Vegan Buffet on Wednesday any week!!

Amma's buffet sounds awesome, but I only get a half hour for lunch and would have to really hustler to get their in time, probably cant do that. I am very open to either Myra's or Macks. How does lunch on a Saturday sound to you?

I just moved back to my hometown about 45 minutes away from the city (I live a bit out in the boonies). I've been itching to find people to hang out with and grab some grub so it's awesome to see that other people are interested in doing the same. Especially since when I lived here before college I wasn't vegan so it's like rediscovering the Nati.

I'm pretty much in love with Melt and Aquarius.

vegansludge, I do hope you can join us!

I love Melt and aquarius has been on my wish list.

Okay, let's make a plan. Can we try for this weekend?

Tell me Saturday on Sunday and then which place you prefer to go!

I have never been to Acquarious either, do folks want to try going there?
Saturday probably works best for me, is everyone else okay with that?

Depending on the time Saturday, I could probably swing it - my work schedule's kind of silly currently.

If my schedule stays the same, any time after 3 would work. However, I'll know tomorrow if I have to switch shifts with one of my co-workers or not - if I do, then my whole day is pretty much shot.
