Hi - there was an old thread on this before New England got its own sub forum. I went here last Saturday for the 4th time and I've always had a good experience. I've found the service to be really good and the food tasty. Got a large salad and the tempeh reuben and asked for avocado on the side and they were super accommodating. Reuben was very good size and atmosphere was nice. Anyway, just wanted to give it a shout-out as another option in the area.

I went there a while ago, I think before they changed the menu (which, in itself, was a while ago). I remember the nachos being really good, but I was kinda underwhelmed by their reuben at the time.

However, I am always in search of a good tempeh reuben, so I think I may need to try it out again soon!

I had a not-so-great experience there a few weeks ago--they were out of everything and our food took forever. They gave us free (mediocre) cake for our troubles, but I found the service less than awe-inspiring even recognizing what was out of the server's control. The food has been a mixed bag for me both of the times I've been there, either completely awesome or pretty meh. I always end up picking the wrong thing, and tinctoris always chooses well.

The only time I've been there I had a meh experience. The special mac and cheese was completely liquidy and soupy, so much so that I question how they could have served it to me because it was just strange. But my bf had a tasty dish, the paella. I haven't had a chance to go back, but haven't really been dying to.

I feel a bit guilty that I still haven't been there, but the reviews I've heard have been pretty mixed, and if I'm Somerville, I'm thinking True Bistro. Of course, I'll be at Tufts so much now, so I'll make more of an effort to check it out.

I went her for a bit of a celebration and I was rather excited - not often do I get to go to an all-vegan place. The enchiladas I got (with corn tortillas replacing the wheat) were underwhelming, but the side salad was good, and my mom's bacon cheeseburger was (apparently) life-changing. We also got a mocha milkshake which was good at first, but the coffee flavor was not very strong, and my mom got a bit of a headache afterwards (although that may be because she is not much of a coffee drinker...)

I do want to go back at some point, though, and try some other things, because this is probably the most accessible vegan restaurant for me (non-Asian) in the area.

For a while, Pulse was our date-night place, and we tried to go once a week! Then they settled on a permanent menu (it used to change monthly-ish) that has fewer options for me because of my allergies, so we don't go as often. I used to find the food a little hit and miss, but now that they have a regular menu, everything's been pretty consistent. It's not fancy or special food, but it's decent comfort food--good for when you're craving things you can't eat at normal restaurants now that you're vegan. I think their prices are really reasonable.

I've never been wowed by the desserts except for when they had doughnuts, which were served warm and were very tasty.

If you go, get the philly cheese steak! Garlic aioli, daiya, shredded seitan, peppers (though not for me) and onions... I'm getting a little drooly thinking about it.

I went and got the Philly cheesesteak, fries, and a milkshake, and it was heaven! I haven't been back since though (that was April? maybe?), but now I want to go back just for the Philly cheesesteak!

Can we have a meetup where we all just go order Philly cheesesteaks?!

(Just kidding, we'd probably clean them out of seitan too quickly. But I really like the idea.)

I like it! I've got to get my budget figured out though, so I'm only allowed to go to True Bistro or Peace o' Pie only because I've already bought Groupon-type things for both. #firstworldproblems

According to their facebook, we'd better schedule a meetup soon! Looks like they might be closing soonish.

Oh noooooooooooooooooo!

They are currently planning on staying open until October in hopes of finding someone to buy it and take it over. Um, let's all chip in and buy it together?

That sucks for them. I may need to try this cheesesteak before they close.

I'd definitely go back for a shake and a cheesesteak. Maybe before the hurricane!

Whoa, I've never even been. I guess I'd better go before they close. (Possibly this weekend!)

Okay, I went yesterday for lunch. I do not understand all the fuss about the cheesesteaks. Also, no strawberry milkshakes? I wasn't that impressed.

nooooooo I'm so sad about this. They have millet bread! They managed to bring my mom and I a gluten free dessert! Milkshakes! Ugh, Boston sucks. I'm definitely going to go before they close/sell.

I do not understand you.

I'm sad they're going, but at least we'll have Veggie galaxy to replace them in terms of comfort food. Though I'd much rather support an all-vegan business.

Just went to Pulse. That vegan cheesesteak was life changing. Better than any I ever had as an omnivore. And our food was taking a long time so they gave us a free french toast cupcake! I think my grandfather was converted to the way of the tofu scramble.

It's a cupcake that tastes like french toast! It's basically the perfect food.
