M might be my all time favorite movie. We got the blu-ray version recently, but haven't watched it yet. Red Shoes is on blu-ray now too...another great one.

Barnes and noble is having 50% off on all criterion dvd and blu-ray right now (in stores and online)
Picked up some good stuff...8 1/2, Vampyr box set, japanese noir box set, and some doc box set that just camed out that looks amazing

This is the most splendid news. I must buy the Il Posto and Hoop Dreams DVDs, along with the Chungking Express blu-ray.

Off to b&n I go! Also, I love all Carl Dreyer films and I'm curious to know which films were in the japanese noir box set...

this is the documentary set I got. Never seen his stuff, but the preview looks amazing:

and the Nikkatsu noir -recommended by a friend:

I also just picked up my favorite film "Children of Paradise" (I only had a burned copy before), Seven Samuri (blu-ray), and Playtime (blu-ray)

it happened one night is one of my favorites. i'm also very fond of hitchcock and his style.

and i can't help but mention french new wave for my love of films like: shoot the piano player, cleo from 5 to 7, masculin-feminin, breathless, and weekend. i LOVE godard.

i could lock myself in a room and watch black and white films all day.
