I don't think I spelled it right. But I think this will be my MoFo theme, or at least part of it. So do you have any requests for hors d'oeuvre you'd like to see veganized?

Bacon-wrapped figs stuffed with like a blue cheese or goat cheese type filling. I saw somebody do it with tempeh bacon but it really didn't seem like the texture would be right. Plus tempeh is kind of fall apart-y and I'm clumsy.

I used to really like that thing where it's just a block of cream cheese covered in cocktail sauce (I always picked the shrimp off). Obviously you could just use tofutti and cocktail sauce is probably vegan, but homemade would be so much better, and i'm sure there's a good sub for the baby shrimp dumped on top.

Also, you could've just typed out w-h-o-r-e to get the correct spelling! hors d'oeuvre requests.

I am totally doing bacon wrapped figs! But ones stuffed with meat. That's what made me want to do this, a recipe in Better Homes. I'm thinking eggplant bacon will be perfect!

I miss cheese balls. I don't know if they have another name (cheese log?). It's like a soft cheese, maybe sharp cheddar mixed with cream cheese (?), rolled in chopped herbs and nuts or dried fruit. My family always served them as an hor d'oeuvre for holidays. We ate it with crackers.

I'd love a version that doesn't rely on using the pre-packaged vegan cheese. I have no idea how to make it!

Zucchini poppers!

couroupita, I make a killer vegan cheeseball...but it uses loads of pre-packaged vegan cheese. Specifically, a tub of Tofutti cream cheese and a wheel of Cheezly red cheddar. I can send you the recipe if you like, if you want a fallback.

I was a huge deviled egg lover back in the day so I would love a recipe for that.

Definitely arancini! Also some kind of kofta thing, with raita? I don't know, I'm just naming hors d'oeuvres I've seen on Masterchef. I'm not fancy enough to be well-acquainted with them.

Also, mini things! Like mini quiches or tiny little burgers.

Mini eggrolls, dumplings, and those various pastries.
Mini sausages would be kinda cute.

Basically mini things.. of all kinds.

Yay! A none soy/gluten based alternative.

I want soy free, gluten free sausage balls (the spicy ones that are kinda bready and have cheese in them). I'm thinking of working on this myself, but I'm sure yours would be better.

I saw bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms on a menu recently. I thought it sounded like an idea.

I've been wanting to try my hand at walnut meat. Even though it sounds so dirty.
