okeydokes. i am 75% sure i'll be coming out for the buffet. i now work on sundays til 5:00 (yay for working, boo for working on sundays. yay for now being able to afford to eat out) webly will be in town, all the way from PDX, so i will defer to her with what she wants to do. if anyone wants to hang around and do some sightseeing or whatever webly has in mind, i'm sure you're welcome. we're also doing this tour on friday night. (the 23rd) if anyone wants to join us, feel free. if there's space that is. http://www.grimphilly.com/index.html (they've been having daily deals for this place lately, so i'll keep an eye open and come back and post it when i find it if any if anyone's interested.)

As for this weekend, Dynah and I are def in for something. xwhenimether, are you still only available before noon? That's some crazy shiitake!! Is Sunday better for you? ? CQ I don't think anyone has a car!! :( Yeah, I'm actually going to be in New Jersey. I didn't think I was going to be this busy, but wow, I'm totally this busy. Sunday should work fine, and if something else comes up (as stuff has been tending to do, but hopefully not this time), I'm down for the twenty-fifth no matter what. Also- where is New Harmony?

New Harmony is Chinatown. So Dynah, xwhen, et al, Sunday we'll do something? Anyone have preferences? Luftpost suggested Blackbirding and Franklin Fountain - xwhen have you been to Blackbird yet?

I am running the half marathon Sunday morning, but turning it into my 20mile run, so obviously I need to re-fuel with pizza and ice cream!

Yeah but see that just makes me feel bad for eating the same thing but not running 20 miles. #fail.

I am down for Sunday! And for the 25th!
xWIHM, New Harmony is on 9th and Cherry St. Google transit will tell you the best way to get there from you. If you have any questions, just ask- Septa isn't too complicated but can take some getting used to.

Yeah I can understand not having a car if you live in Philly. I have a car and I don't live in Philly and I am scared as shiitake to drive my car into Philly. Unfortunately, I also don't live anywhere near the train stop. Blehhhh. I also might have guests staying over Friday or Saturday night. Soooo don't plan around me...but I'll come if I can.

dude. 9th & cherry is totally walkable from swann fountain. (but cherry street gets cut off around the convention center, so walk on race or vine the whole way.)

Uh. Is swann fountain the one with the, merpeople? Or maybe it's just fish, I don't know. My school is right across the street from the free library! 9th and Cherry is totally walkable from here, I know the general direction it's in.
I've not been to Blackbird. Where's that?

Well, if we do Sunday it would definitely have to be in the late afternoon/evening for me...I have a Quaker thing in the morning that will go till at least 2 so the earliest I think I could do would be 4 or 5.

I can only do lunch. But if dinner works for more people then go ahead. I guess it's xwhenimether's call.

But I don't think taking a bus is crazy if you are short on time. in philly, it'd probably still be shorter (time-wise) to walk. (ha!) although maybe i'm being too harsh on SEPTA. and even if xWIMH takes a trolley, there'd be that stupid end-of-line transfer at city hall. but if public transit is needed, i'd think trolley+el would be the quickest option, even with the transfer. sometimes the el comes super quickly, sometimes not. it's a crepe-shoot. p.s. yeah, swann fountain is the one at the library. :-)

I'll just walk- I prefer walking, mostly. Public transit kind of scares me because we don't really have it in Detroit.
As for Sunday, I can do either lunch or dinner.

Don't plan around me though. I'll try to come next week for New Harmony instead.
