My mom and I am going into Portland tomorrow and I was looking forward to trying some of the delicious vegan food Portland has to offer. I am a little overwhelmed at my choices though. So, wise PPK, could you tell me your favorite (cheap-ish) place to get lunch in Portland?

I think the answer is always Homegrown Smoker.

I like the Ruby Dragon. And the other food cart near there, the Native Bowl.

I ended up going to Nicolas, on Grand. The vegan Mezza did not disappoint! Thanks for the suggestions though guys! I'll have to check them out next time I make it into Portland.

Oh wow that sucks. I never actually ate there because it was right next to Native Bowl, and her bowls are so addicting; every time I would go I'd tell myself : "this time I will eat at Ruby Dragon, I have to try something other than NB!", but then got lured in by those delicious bowls.

I have this same problem! I've also never tried the sushi place. Now I feel a little bad, but it's so hard to support all the vegan goodness in this city!

I've only eaten at Ruby Dragon and the sushi place, never Native Bowl, heh. Ruby dragon was good but don't beat yourself up about it. Pretty easy-to-make-yourself kind of stuff. I never had my socks blown off. The sushi place however... GO TO THIS! Amazing sushi. Especially if you get something with ume in it.

'Vegetarian Sushi' right beside Native Bowl in the mississippi cart pods. One time, for a special, she was selling onigiri with umeboshi inside. I was so happy.
