So I thought I would start a separate thread, since I have a few different Facebook msg threads going on.
So the South Bay people were wanting to do a separate bake sale down in Santa Cruz because A) it's easier for all of to get to, B) the last vegan bake sale we had in Santa Cruz went over really well, and C) two bake sales (SF and SC) means more money!
Since October is fast approaching, let's talk about dates. I'm pretty open this month so far.

I'd be up for any weekend in October, and Santa Cruz makes sense to me.

SF - I'm actually more open for October than I thought I would be! I think most weekends, besides the first of course.

Does Oct 22 work for people interested in the Santa Cruz bake sale? That's a Saturday.

Cool! We'll wait for Amey to chime in and I think that's all of us for SC.

poo! 22nd isn't great for me. I am hosting a baby shower at my house that day with a whole lot of people, and I think that will be enough commotion for me for one day. I could bake something for you, but I probably couldn't be much help other than that.
Oct 8-9 I've got nothing...
Sunday Oct 2nd could work for me... but I'd have to leave by 3:00 (teaching for someone else that day), or Sunday the 23rd?
I'd really love to help out! and maybe even walk with you guys!

And then maybe fit in a trip to Source while I'm up there :) I am totally cool with any of the dates you're free to do a bake sale! Sat or Sun, doesn't really matter to me.

I think I'd have to bow out of Oct 2nd. I get my cast off on 9/27 and probably will still be on crutches for a few days after that so I won't have time to get groceries and stuff to bake.
Is Oct 8-9 cool for everyone? There is also Oct 29th which is a Saturday.

Let's do Oct 8th then, if it works for everyone. I will tell the SC peeps too, and see if they want to come/help out/contribute.
I can ask Bookshop Santa Cruz if we can be out in front of there again. I thought that was a pretty good location, didn't you girls?

Okay the 8th it is!
I thought that book store was a great location, there was so much street traffic.

okay gals! and guys? Our Santa Cruz Bakesale is GOOD TO GO. Official permission from Bookshop SC. Saturday October 8th.
What time should we do. SC is pretty sleepy in the morning... so we could do 10-1, 10:30-2:00? We want to hit the prime hunger zone!
We gotta spread the word on FB and such. fun!

oh, one more thing. I just got another note from the owner of Bookshop SC. Apparently the cafe next door was a little bummed last time we had our bake sale (not because they didn't want us there, but just because they ended up with a lot of leftovers that day and would have baked differently if they had known). So, I will let them know we're coming. Also, that cafe is called Chocolat, and they specialize in chocolatey things - so Casey (who owns Bookshop) asked if we could not have any "pure chocolate" things on our menu. We can use our discretion, but I assume this means things like truffles and such. It shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure some chocolate chip cookies and things will be fine.
And, like I said, I'll let them know that we're coming so that there are no hard feelings!

Whoops, that's good to know. I was going to bring some stuff containing chocolate but I won't bring confections.
I like 10:30-2, or even 3. It's good to hit the lunch crowd and I'll make sure to bring extra flat bread and stuff this time.

Great, thanks Amey!
Do we have folding tables and chairs, tablecloths, signs, platters, etc. covered?
I was thinking of making chocolate-peanutbutter no-bake cookies and tomato-rosemary scones .. not sure what else.
