Vegans don't love Simon anymore. It seems really confused and it's all applause and no heart.

It really does seem all over the place. I liked Siamese and the old couple, but too many cutesy children are pushing it into unwatchable territory.

I wish Simon had went smaller instead of bigger.

Yeah, I'm just assuming this is the X-factor format they used in the UK version and it worked there, but I'm not sure the huge audience is helping anything. It feels more like America's Got Talent almost. And then Simon is being all nice which keeps throwing me off. Maybe it'll get better after the open auditions?

Yeah, that's exactly what it feels like. And the one record exec guy seems genuinely bewildered, like he has no idea what he's doing there! His friction with Simon doesn't seem entertaining, it's just awkward. Why would you need to explain the show to a judge mid-audition?

OK, why didn't they cut off the no-pants guy!? If the age limit is 12 I'm sure there are lots of kids in the audience. I'm as much for offensive things as the next person, but that seems questionable.
And yes! The (I'm assuming fake) friction between the judges was not working. The Voice tried to do that and it didn't work there either.

Yeah, it's so contrived. So disappointing.

I'm very disappointed. I was so excited for this to be better than recent Idol. And Simon + Paula = love! Hopefully it will improve.

On the bright side it's one less show I need to watch this season.

After the first 10 minutes, I told my husband this show has a good shot at just annoying me. After an hour, I was done. Glad to hear others felt the same! We only got to see a few of the auditions, the others were basically snippets. We're focusing way too much on what the judges have to say and very little on the actual competitors. However, I did find Dan and Vanita, the older couple, uncontrollably adorable!

i got sucked in during the stupid boot camp round. that always happens to me! hollywood week on idol, and vegas week of SYTYCD are always my favorite weeks, i wish they'd be a whole month long. so after missing half the audition shows, i watched the boot camp shows and got sucked back in.
i adore drew as well, she's amazing. her bieber audition was fantastic, and i loved her roxette performance. stacy francis, though, i just want to stop crying already. jesus.
other people i like off the top of my head: marcus canty, chris rene, the other little girl (rachel crow?), the burrito guy (josh), and i think i like those two brewer(?) brothers, but their judges performance was pretty not-great.

Can we talk about how creepy Simon was with his shoes off and shades on?
I like the burrito guy! I'll likely watch again tonight.

hee, i keep reading all over the place how pervy simon looked. but weirdly enough, i didn't think so at all! i thought he looked very chill with his jeans and bare feet and (for once in his life) not wearing a tight t-shirt. it looked like a french countryside vacay where he had to do some work. i must be slipping.
and oh yay! i forgot tonight is the results already.

Oh yes, there was part of me that was thinking...and this is Simon at home, and it could be!
I hate what a stunt it was with 10 minutes left to the show, but I am really glad Melanie is going to compete!
I was surprised with some of the top 4 picks, but there are a few in the over 40, girls and boys categories that I'm looking forward to seeing sing. The group of 10 kids though? ldkgldkgldkglkdglghfgh

totally agree, the groups category is teh suck. oy vey.
can't believe that little kid got through for the boys. he strikes me as SO full of himself, and that is seriously my least favorite kind of person. i hope he surprises me. very happy that marcus and chris both got through, though!
also CANNOT believe nicole picked that dexter guy. come on!
simon is a weirdo. i'm very relieved about melanie as well, but i think he should have had to trade simone or tiah for her.

I don't know if I'm happy or sad they didn't pick the former Disneg girl!
When are they going to rename this the Lindsay and Jess watch X-Factor thread?

I'm a Jess too, so you can keep the name! I just came in to share how much I loathe that stupid girl group they put together. forking Lakoda Rayne? I don't know who picked out that name for them, but whoever it is needs a swift kick in the arse.
I found it amusing that all the other judges were sitting, having conversations with the people and Simon had them standing 20 feet away as he held court like the King of the Skeevy Old Dudes.
Stacy has an incredible voice, but the constant crying is starting to feel contrived. Maybe she's just a really emotional person, but is she ever not teary eyed?

It was 2 and a half hours last night?!?! I caught from Leroy onwards, and I am not sad at all to have missed the group insanity. The performance elements of Tiah and Simone's acts were just insane. I adore Melanie and Drew so much.
