Thank you! What do you mean by surveys? I'm such a n00b.

Every year surveys start going around. A lot of times, it's just a bunch of questions asking about your favorite products or meals. You'll start to see them on blogs. Last year, somebody started a Google doc with a bunch of questions. I usually just copy one when I see it in my blog reader because I never know when I might need a filler post.

Does every post have to be explicitly about food? Most of the time I post on my blog about food, but sometimes I do an AR post, or restaurant review, or film review (all that would be vegan-related of course). What's the dilly?

Also wondering about this as, while I generally blog about food, I do some other stuff as well - it's related to veganism/food justice. Just didn't know if I should start another blog for this since I know not everyone who follows me does so for the cooking.

You certainly don't have to post just about food. If it's vegan, it fits.

I'd disagree with that. It's called Vegan Month of FOOD so Vegan MoFo posts should be about food. Restaurant reviews are, animal rights issues aren't necessarily.

But it's impractical for people whose focus is something else to drop their usual topics for a whole month.

I have, on the rare occasion, blogged about something non-mofo during the month. I just started my post with 'this is not mofo related'. But if you plan on updating more than a handful of times not about food/food related topics, it's probably best that you have a separate food blog.

Thanks for this feedback. I would say currently close to 90% of my blog posts are explicitly about food (food I made or gotten in a restaurant). Since it is around Halloween time, I wanted to do a post or two related to those things. Don't steal my idea, but I wanted to do a blog post about my favorite Halloween movies and/or one about vegetarian protagonists in horror movies. I think it would be a fun way to break up of my usual food posts and something I would blog about anyway, even if I wasn't doing Vegan Mofo.

I concur mollyjade. I saw the cool blog post you just made today for Vegan Mofo. I liked it! Is that the standard blog post that people use? (I'm still a noob to this). May I borrow it? If not, completely understandable, I just want to make sure I'm being consistent.

There's no standard way to do it. Feel free to borrow. Whatever gets you posting about vegan food!

Yeah. Looking back through my blog, rarely do my posts not involve food in some manner but I think I'll probably just put a post up prior to VeganMoFo letting everyone know that it'll be much more food-heavy but that my other not as food-related things (op-eds about organic farming, broader food justice topics, etc.) will be back in full force in November. Juggling two vegan-related blogs would be a hassle and my goal is try and post 5-6 times every week.

I don't blog solely about food for the month. A lot is food related but I will have other posts as well.

I created a "category" on my Wordpress blog which will be used specifically for MoFo posts, so if people only want to read my MoFo posts, they can just subscribe to that category (but why would you want to do that? I have so many interesting things to say about so many things! :D)

I think I've decided on my theme. I have several non-veg readers, so my theme is going to be "But How Do You Get Your Protein?" Each week I will feature a different group of proteins: Week 1 Tofu and Tempeh, Week 2 Seitan is not the Devil, Week 3 That's Just Nuts (and Seeds), Week 4 - Beans, Beans the Magical Fruit. One day I will feature dishes from the PPK Cookbook Challenge too. There you have it. Now I just hope I can get my shiitake together. I have had very little internet/blog/PPK time the last couple of months.

Is there a logo for this year?

Change of plans! I'm doing a whole month of...food named after people! We've got Caesar, Benedict, Bechamel, Melba, Rueben...oh this is going to be fun!

Dudes (and dudesses)! Can I still register, even though it's after the 1st? I've been crazy busy with school stuff and the date slipped past me, but I can commit to a couple posts a week, and would hate to miss out on my 4th (?!) MoFo. Please advise!
