I found the redwoods slices! They were sold out of the sage/onion ones, sadly, so I picked up some of the faux beef ones. At least now I know where they're located in the store!

good! i think the beef ones are okay, but i think i've eaten actual beef maybe 3 times in my entire life! the sage and onion ones are tastier (but they would be; that's why they're sold out!)

Which makes me wonder... who are the other veggies living near me? I'd like to meet them!
But I'm excited to try the sage ones! The beef ones are ok, but even when I had access to tofurkey/other faux meat in the States, I wouldn't have gone for beef flavour. Just happy to be trying new things!

i finally have something to contribute to this subforum! I think. Oatly is 2 for £2 at Waitrose. I haven't actually bought it frequently enough to know if that's a genuine bargain, but it's about 1/2 what oat milk is in NZ, so I'm confident I got myself a deal.

They were sold out of chocolate in the one I was in, so I'm going to guess 'yes'.

That is a good deal and I just ran out! I usually pay more than £1 a carton (maybe £1.20-ish?) at Sainsbury's! Thanks, mendelian!

SPECULOOS are back in Lidl! And they're 2 for £2, which seems pretty good considering the amount of biscuits in a packet. I think I might try to buy 2 packets each time I go in until they're no longer in stock - should keep me going for the rest of the year.

ETA. They're masquerading under 'Speculatias' or something similar. Don't be fooled!

I can never get my homemade Speculoos spread anywhere smooth enough, and it doesn't taste the same. It's good, but not the same. I'm thinking of ordering in some Speculoos for my me-to-me Xmas present.

Sainsbury's have the Alpro dessert cups 2 for £2.50. The one I go to had vanilla, caramel, smooth chocolate, and dark chocolate (pretty much every flavour except the coffee one). And Alpro soy milk is 3/£3 at Tesco (which is only a 9p savings, but it's something, I guess).

I seriously thought it was the Speculoos spread, too. Drats.

Are the Alpro ones better than the Provamel (sp?) ones? Because I had the P ones a few weeks back when I wanted a pudding-like dessert and wasn't too fond of the taste, but the texture was good.

I've never had the Provamel ones, but I think they're virtually the same. I kinda like them - they taste and feel like pudding to me. Oh, but they're better when you mix caramel and chocolate. (BTW, if you want pudding, you can get Jell-O at Lupe Pinto's - chocolate and vanilla are both vegan, to the best of my knowledge.)

I concur that the taste and texture is spot-on for jell-o pudding, I just wasn't too keen on the provamel chocolate taste. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't awesomely chocolatey enough for me to run out and buy more, either. Maybe I'll give the Alpro ones a go, as the 4-pack is only 1 quid at my local Tesco.
