Truths:

- This is my first year participating
- I have only planned 2 of 31 posts (!!!)
- We have a houseguest until next Tuesday
- We start dogsitting a very cute Boston Terrier on Sunday for 10 days
- I feel very panicky and think I might vom
- I need someone to sing me "Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty" while stroking my hair

I know this is supposed to be fun and everything will be okay, but is anyone else FREAKING OUT?!?! I figure if I totally bomb out and have nothing to post about, I'll just do "what I ate today" posts.

Don't freak out!

Your house-guest is going to want to eat, right? If you grab your camera (or not), a few cookbooks from the library, or your shelf, and make 3 complete meals, you could potentially have 10-15 new posts if you post about different components of the meals, for example!

yes! It doesn't have to be all things you have cooked, you can talk about ingredients, inspirations, what other people are doing, what your favorite meal is, restaurants, and all sorts of other things. You can even just post a picture. And you don't have to do 31 posts, most people only do the weekdays.

And it is fun!

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but with hundreds of people participating, I don't know that anyone would notice if you only post 15 times versus 21. It's supposed to be fun. If it's not fun, don't do it.

But I bet the Boston Terrier has something interesting to say about vegan food.

I have planned 0 of 31 posts. So, you're already doing better than me!

I am too! This is my first mofo, and I am prepared, but even still I feel underprepared for what I know some people do every year. I'm right there with you, we will be okay though!

So far we have been eating out every single night! Which is not at all like me. The good thing is that VMF gives me a reason to cook more for the last few days of her stay. Will be doing a HUGE brunch on Sunday that includes homemade vegan nutella. Numnum.

Thanks, LazySmurf! I definitely need to calm down and realize I can post whatever I want or nothing at all. I, unfortunately, am the type who will suddenly go all crazy and spend 4 hours straight cooking a meal, documenting, and posting it. That type of insanity will burn me out super fast, so I just have to scale back.

MollyJade - It's not really about whether people notice, it's about wanting to do a good job. I spend a lot of time and effort on my blog regardless of how many people read it. And it will be fun, I was just wondering if anyone else was getting a little anxious.

NebraskaAlaska - We can do this! I'm gonna play "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty the whoooole time. Maybe drunken posting can be my theme?

Deearess - YOU ARE MY HERO! Sheldon 4-Eva

PaprikaPapaya - We will be okay! Deep breaths, stay focused. Wax on, wax off.

Thanks all, you already made me feel a TON better, just like I knew you would! xoxoxo

sing it!

really though, don't worry so much about planning posts in advance. maybe give yourself about an hour every day of 'me' time, and during MoFo, or most of MoFo, let yourself write about something vegan food related during that time. or write some ideas down - and then write them out each day. you're going out a lot - have you had a recent cup of tea that was lovely? write about it, and some fond memories of tea drinking, for example. you can do it!

I am not stressing. I figure, I eat at least three times a day and I've been eating vegan food all three of those times for almost nine years. There are probably few things I know more about than how to eat vegan food. I am sure I can come up with something to say about food every day for a month. I am not going to try to do a whole complicated new recipe every day because I can't afford it and I couldn't eat that much food all by myself anyway! Some days I will write about cooking big things, but other days I'm just going to write about foods I love or tips I've picked up over the years or other vegans that are cool (I decided not to try to do that every day for a month, but I might still do a few!)

I'm just excited to write about vegan food every day for a month...because I love writing and I love food!

Maybe try just doing weekdays? I did that last MoFo but, to be honest, it was still a clustercuss of blogging. Or just set your own pace and say to hell with counting posts. If it's not enjoyable, what's the point?

Or perhaps simply vary the variety (read: length!) of your posts? For example, I recently posted a restaurant review that took me longer than I care to admit to write. However, tomorrow's post will be a quick and easy review with 2 photos max. Do you have a animal friend of some sort? I know for a fact no vegan blogger will mind looking at a picture of a cute companion animal. Maximum entertainment with minimum effort.

Also: I like food diary posts! No shame required.

I know what you mean. This is my first MoFo too, and I was planning on being big and awesome with a fancy theme, but a couple days ago I realized how goddam busy I am this month and how overwhelmed I was before it even started. I scaled back my plans and now it seems (mostly, haha) fun again.

(Also my sister didn't help by being like "let me share on my facebook with all my farmville friends so maybe someone will read your blog" ... *cough*...)
