Love portland nursery, but I work all those times! :( I'll just have to sample all the apples we're sampling today at my work (New Seasons) . :)

Mars, I kind of want to ask what New Seasons you work at but I don't want to be a creep...I bet you see tons of PPKers all the time without even knowing it though.

I wouldn't be surprised! And it's cool, I love creeps! I work at Arbor Lodge.

Love this. Brought the boyfriend this time and he loved it too.

I'm loving that the Hard Cider Tasting is growing. We shared ten tickets between us, which was plenty - big pours and hard cider go straight to the head! We got to try a variety - very much worth it. Wandering Aengus might be my most favorite hard cider ever - I always order the hops one at Sweet Hereafter.

The cider press was inspiring. When I learn how to make my apple tree stop producing rotten-worm-ridden-blobs, I want to build one and press cider at home. And whatever apples they were using were perfect - not overly sweet. We bought a gallon to use for sweetening pies.

Ohhhh the apples. We did go on the last Sunday of the last weekend, so I shouldn't have been surprised that most were sold out. But it was disappointing to have many of my favorites gone - we went to New Seasons right after just so I could buy a couple Matsu apples. I know it was a bad year for apples too, and there were a lot of mealy tasting varieties.

That being said, we ended up with 27lbs of apples. Between pies and applesauce, we're going to be a busy couple here.

Thaaaank you Portland Nursery.
