Injera

I already know that this is probably a ridiculous question, but has anyone ever seen injera on sale anywhere in the UK?

Never, sadly, but a man in Shebo market told me to use millet flour for injera when I asked.

Oh, I've got the right flour, and one day I will make it as a project, but I was idly wondering if it actually was on sale anywhere.

I saw it for sale at one of the grocers on Hounslow High Street a couple years ago. I haven't been back in a long time. I guess someone in London might be making it for sale to other stores, but I can't find anything promising in Google. If you're thinking about making it teff-only, you're more hardcore than most of the Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants around here.

Have you tried buying it fresh from a restaurant? I haven't done this, but considered it once when I found Ethiopian places in Amsterdam and Utrecht here.. I couldn't find teff over here, but went with millet instead to make it myself. It was fun, but it would be nice to buy it for a quick party/dinner. Make all the dishes ahead of time, reheat, serve with legit injera. That would make me happy!

that's what I want to do too! I don't there are many Ethiopian restaurants outside London but next time I'm there I might try.

Just an update. I did buy a tonne last time I was in an Ethiopian restaurant in London and froze it. Yesterday though I saw it for sale in a shop on Uxbridge road, nearly opposite the Red Sea restaurant where the veggie platter is labelled vegan. I've had better but it was nice not to have to try and make myself understood about butter.

That is awesome. Is it 100% teff injera or teff+wheat?

It didn't say, but it didn't look dark enough to be only teff.
