As far as I know, the only companies that state flat out on their websites that their polishes are vegan are Barry M, Beauty Without Cruelty, Color Club, Cult Nails, Elf, Manic Panic, No Miss, Nubar, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Peacekeeper, SpaRitual, and Zoya. That's not nearly enough for me, NEED MORE POLISH. So me and the rest of the ladies on the epic nail polish thread have been checking ingredients and emailing companies, and now I've compiled a list! Use your own discretion, obviously, I'm no scientist, and double check ingredients. The main non-vegan ingredients that pop up in nail polish are carmine-smooshed bugs, and guanine-ground up fish scales, but some polishes have pearl in them (Jordana, some old BB Couture listed below) , and some have silk (Revlon) and a few have popped up with shellac (the two Wet n Wild polishes listed below.) Yuck. Here's the list of all the brands that are vegan as far as we know, it's heavily American (as I'm one of them) with some Australian and UK brands listed as well. Feel free to add anything we missed in the comment thread. This list is ONLY for the nail polish from these companies, not other cosmetics from them, not even their treatments/base/top coats. If you want to know about vegan treatments/base/top coats just ask here or in the nail thread and we'll give you good suggestions. We're friendly like that. Quote: Vegan Polish Companies

Thanks for the thanks, it gives me warm fuzzies.
I tore my old wish list of cruelty free polishes out of my swatch notebook, and started a new one of just vegan polishes, I got the a England ones I wanted written down, a bunch of BB Couture (picking ones I like from Scrangie's swatches, still not done with them though) and then my stupid power went out. Blergh.
I'm geeking out making new wish lists. It's like now that I decided to only buy vegan polishes, instead of just focusing on cruelty free stuff and turning a blind eye to guanine and carmine and silk, I'm more obsessed with nail polish than I was before. The same thing happened with food too. Veganism makes me happily ravenous for food and nail polish.
Oh, and I misstyped, it's Curtsy & Bow, not Curtsy + Bow
whoops.

Jessi, you can add Urban Decay polishes to your list. SourceAlso, thanks for doing this. I'm going to print it out and add to it by hand if things change now instead of having tons of sticky notes all over my desk :)

I feel like one of the other recent polish sets wasn't either. Of course, it could just be one polish in the set that isn't vegan.

The summer UD one was vegan: It showed up on the vegan page on the UD site last week again. I wasn't crazy for it. I wish the holiday LE was vegan.

The Apocalypse kit they had before was vegan, and the summer one was, but the other two aren't. There are a lot of brands that have some vegan polishes, and some non-vegan ones, but I wanted to stick to only vegan brands for this list to make it easier. I do think I found a few more brands to add, but I'll pm those to calcuhater so they can get added to the original list, instead of making them hard to find in the body of the thread.

I'm sharing this with my sister who is the nail polish queen. I can never keep a manicure so I only do the occasional pedi, but she's moving soon so I will need to get my own stash going.

Julep polishes are vegan - the lip glosses contain carmine. They have an intro box with 2 polishes and with a coupon code (smh9oxu) you can get it for $4.99! :) I was on FB with customer service asking questions! http://www.julep.com/

Awesome! I lurk the polish thread, but I can't have polished fingernails at work so I rarely polish them. I do like to keep my toesies polished and last night at Target I didn't remember which brands were vegan or not so I decided not to purchase any. Glad I did because I was waffling between OPI and Essie.

Inglot polishes are vegan, Kitteh posted about them a long time ago in the epic nail polish thread, and I had forgotten (again, just posting about polishes, I don't know about their other makeup, and at least one of their nail treatments isn't vegan.)
I also found a brand called Savina, they're sold on a website called vegangoods, and the ingredients look vegan, so I'm going to go ahead and say that Savina are vegan. I read that they sell them at Nordstrom Rack too.
