It seems like there might be a better way to refer to people who sew... This was a mildly startling subject to see in the list.

OMG--didn't even realize that. Oops. I absolute did not mean to imply that people who sew are like waste-carrying pipes.

Haha, I didn't realize it either. According to the dictionary there isn't a difference between the spelling though.

Haha I definitely read it as the crafty type of sewer. Guess that's where my mind's at.

Guess I'll be taking a trip to Hancock this weekend! Thanks for the heads up!

...or mine. 8)

I dunno. I think "seamstress" or "tailor" implies that it's professional. I don't know if there's a better word to use. For now I will just snicker to myself.

I'm trying to make a joke about your mind being in the gutter, and gutters leading to sewers, but I couldn't quite make it work.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I was going with it but I couldn't come up with anything that flowed well either...

Some people in the blogosphere say "sewist." I don't think it matters either way.

What about 'stitcher'? Or does that imply surgeon/doctor? Or a position in the zombie society that involves sewing limbs back on? I think we should resolve this issue on the PPK, it will end the hostility between the sewing and plumbing community.
