I have a $35 Groupon for e.l.f. that I need to use and I've been hesitating because I've heard some of their stuff is decent and some of it is crepe. I've got some makeup brushes in my cart, but I'm waffling over what else to get. Suggestions?

I love the tinted moisturizer and bronzer. I am also happy with a combo eyeliner/eyeshadow pencil. You might want to double check those brushes. I've heard that while e.l.f. cosmetics are vegan, their brushes are not.

The Studio and Bamboo brushes are vegan and awesome. My favorite brushes so far! I love the glosses, mineral eye shadows and primers. Mascaras and lipsticks are no bueno. The eye liner pen is awesome! Also love the blushes.

The new nail polish formula smells awful, but goes on really nicely. I like the eyeshadow primer too (the dollar one, I haven't tried the studio one.) The dollar tinted moisturizer made me break out in cystic acne after wearing it for one day, and the mineral mascara flaked like crazy. So I vote brushes, nail polish, and eye shadow primer.

I have the Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips and I love it : )!
It's glossy, slightly minty and nice overall.

Yes the liquid lipsticks are good, they are like glosses. Both primers are great btw. The regular lipsticks broke in the mail and were a bit too chalky for me.

Mineral eyeshadows, studio concealer pencil, eye primer, any brushes or tools you might need...it can be hard to pick out $35 worth of stuff when it's that cheap!

The lip glosses, bronzer, mineral powder, the eyeliner pen (but lately they dry up to quick), eye shadow primer - all good!

I have tried a ton of elf products over the years!

Good:
HD powder
Complexion perfection powder
Translucent matifying powder
Studio-line blushes
Kabuki Brush
Shimmer palette
Liquid Eyeliner
Hypershine gloss
Lip stains
Matte lip colours
The individual false lashes
The eyelash curler

There are some other things that maybe aren't the best quality, but I still find them to be fun to play around with. The $1 lipsticks, the creamy eyeshadow + liner sticks, and the nailpolish.

The studio tinted moisturiser is really good and is spf 20. The waterproof eyeliner pen is good (but, as mentioned, it dies pretty quickly). I like the nail polish too...

I love the brushes I have. I also have the dollar primer and it works pretty well. It's not as good as a high end primer, but it's also not $20.

I have some sort of complexion powder that works well.

I really hate their regular eyeshadows, though. I grabbed up a few look books on clearance and quickly discovered why they were marked down.

Yeah the nail polish sucks, but their eyeliner pens are good, they do dry out quick but store them upside down, plus they're so cheap, that they're affordable to replace.

I love their regular blushers (the shy blusher is lovely but it crumbles to pieces in a few weeks - both times i've bought it this has happened - the others seem ok though).

Their duo fibre brush is awesome, as good as MAC's but vegan and a fraction of the price!

Some of their new products look good like their studio loose shadows, matte ones and shiny ones. They just weren't in stock when I placed my order the other day.

I like their liquid lipsticks, mineral lipsticks and glosses too.

The shimmering facial whip is nice for highlighting.

I have had my eyeliner for almost a year now, use it almost daily. Indeed, store it upside down.

Yes, the matt lipstick is pretty dry, but I just apply a little lip balm first. The shade called "fantasy" is a perfect subtle day time shade for me.
Speaking of lip balm, their lip balm lists synthetic bee wax as an ingredient. What is that? If it's synthetic it's vegan, right? But then why are they calling it bee wax at all? It's freaking me out!

Really? Lucky you - I've never had one last more than a month or 2!

The eyeliner pen used to last a month or two for me...Now it is like 2 weeks. I stopped buying them for now & went back to UD.

They reformulated them within the last few months, and they're actually pretty good now, though now they're $2 instead of $1. The new ones smell pretty strong, but otherwise I like them, and I hated the old formula.

Really, ooh, I might have to buy one and try it!! They had a couple of colours I like. I'll never wear the old ones I have again, they're awful.

If you're still looking for suggestions I just got the Studio cream eyeliner in metallic olive and really like it (especially that it comes with a little angled brush which seems really good for precision application).

My wife says any of the stuff is good and vegan, that it depends on what you need. She really liked the concealer.
