And will reopen in a revamped format that will include non-vegan dishes. It will be called Till. From what I heard, the last all vegan day will be around the first of the year. They still plan to have several vegan offerings on the menu.
I'm trying to stay positive about this. After all, if I went to a 'regular' restaurant and could eat great vegan food (and feel safe from cross-contamination), I'd be raving about the place. It's just sad to see what I view as evolution taking a step backward.

Me, too..........first Vegiterranean and now this. I get that they feel they have to appeal to more people, especially here in Ohio, but it just sucks.

I am glad they are going to re-open but am highly disappointed that they will include non-vegan items. I did see that the new food will be a bit more affordable and that they are also opening a pastry shop that will have vegan doughnuts. A step back for sure, though.

It always sucks when all vegan/vegetarian restaurants begin to offer meaty options. But my optimistic spin on it is if it gets non-vegans to eat in a restaurant where there are vegan options and can ask questions about the various food options, it might get them thinking?

Great point, and thanks! I'm needing all the help I can get in finding the silver lining.

That blows. I don't live there anymore, but that place was amazing. I don't even think I've been anywhere that awesome in LA. And Till? Who thought that one up?

I have spent lots of time in that building, when it was the King Avenue Coffeehouse. King Avenue was super cheesy, and I mean that in the dairy way. Will it still be veg, or are they gonna serve pigs and other friends? Also, what's next door, I'm betting Byzantium, the bead shop is long gone... I still have beads I bought there 20+ years ago!

Yes, they will be serving animals, from what I understand. Next door was "On the Fly" which was a quick to go place (on the right, facing the building) and on the left was a studio that seemed unfinished, unloved, and unused if my peering through the windows told the true story.
Now the spot that was On the Fly is going to be Till Box and similar to the On the Fly concept, but for Till.
So cool about the beads, Kittee, and what a different time there.

Byzantium has been on High Street for at least 10 years now (well, I cannot confirm that it is still there in the past two years but I think it is).
