Hey guys,
So some people clearly misunderstood the idea of VEGANmofo when they signed up and thought it was cool to post about pulled ham, chicken, and fish. There's not much we could do about that until they posted and people noticed it in the feed. Post them here and we'll pull them from the bundle and the MoFo website. But in order for you to not see their posts, you're going to have to manually delete them from your reader (if you're using Google Reader, go to manage subscriptions, find it, select, hit unsubscribe). Just give us the name of the blog and that should suffice - we don't really have to link to them here. I'll edit my post with your answers so people can see which ones to pull. Thanks!
Just search for these in your reader subscriptions section and you'll find them:

If we're going to post the links here, I'd like to suggest that everyone remain awesome and not flame them. Mofo is about the greatness of vegan food, and I'd hate to see it become negative because some people didn't understand.

I agree! Some of these people do have vegan recipes on their Web site and if they were only posting vegan during mofo that would be awesome, but they're not. If you're curious you can go check them out or leave them on your reader (I read quite a few nonvegan foodblogs for inspiration). I just suggested we not post links because this post could get kfishered and it would be nice to just do this sort of quietly (on the internet).

I agree, just post the title of the blog. No need to post a link and of course no reason to go over and see. This is strictly so that we can look at vegan food only in our readers.

I even saw a blog the other day (can't remember who) that stated at the very beginning how they only had dairy laden food to show...then tagged it vegan and veganmofo. Okay...

mrsbadmouth wrote: Christ, was this even an issue once in the previous years? Nope, not that I can remember! I guess we could be more explicit that this a vegan only event but it seems pretty obvious to me. It sucks that it makes so much more work for pickledtreats and kittee. So rude. Well I posted something on the MoFo blog so maybe that will help things a little. Maybe we should just stop having people participate and only have robots.

I really think this is because the bloggers wanted more followers and traffic to their sites and saw it as a train to jump on. It's definitely annoying, but this is a good way to figure out what to address in upcoming years since it will no doubt get more publicity and grow in number (see: Teach people how to format their RSS feed. Holy shiitake.).

i think we need to be more clear next year. i think we wrote, "post as much vegan food as possible," which can translate in a variety of ways. next year in the signup survey thing, we just need to something that says--"this is an all vegan event. will you be able to post only vegan food for the entire month?" and if blogs say NO, then we will just not add them to teh feed. it is very easily to delete those out. i think it is good to have omnivores participate, but they need to post only vegan food.

Yes I think it's awesome if omnivores and/or vegetarians participate. I think some of the offenders may be vegan, but not every vegan blogger thinks it's gross to post nonvegan food once in awhile like of what their husband ate or something. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them to chill on this if they want to participate.

I'm a vegetarian, and I am ONLY posting vegan during veganmofo. It is completely rude not to. I'm not even posting one of my local restaurant reviews because I have a picture of my husbands burger and I won't subject y'all to it.
It isn't hard. You sign up for VEGAN MoFo, you post vegan. Nuff said. I made it clear in my first post that I'm a vegetarian, spelled it out but refuse to be a bia and post pics of my new leather shoes or whatever.
