Okay so 3 mornings in a row I have come out of my room to find that the pug has shiitake in her cage. She is now 10 months old and wasn't having this problem. Her cage is a little big, but it has a divider in it to make it smaller. She seems otherwise okay so I'm not concerned about her health but I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow to rule stuff out.

Here's my concern right now - my house smells like shiitake. The first night she went in her cage, the cage was on carpet and she got some out the side onto the carpet and I got that out. I then moved her to linoleum so it'd be easier to clean and it is as far as I can tell, clean. But it reeks in here! Or maybe it's residual dog poo stink in my nose? I cracked a window even though it's cold (35º - woo!). I have a candle going. I bought Nature's miracle. Other advice?

I'm am not sure if its completely vegan- but I do know that it works.

Also as a migraine person who is very sensitive to strong smelling cleaning products- this line does have a slight smell but its not strong and it goes away fast. I have had zero problems in that area which is always a concern for me.

The product line was recommended to me by a DVM who is also a behaviorist.

I second the anti-icky poo recommendation. That stuff has been a lifesaver as a foster Mom with a revolving puppy door!

Nature's Miracle always worked well for me. If you've cleaned it all up and gotten everything out of the house, residual smell usually clears up in a few hours. Is the dog completely clean, maybe there are remnants stuck to feet or fur? Any chance there is a hidden poop somewhere? Behind the couch, maybe under the bed??

White vinegar works in a pinch. Your whole house will smell like salad dressing for a while, but when it dissipates, it takes the poop smell with it.

chop_sockey and myself always say it smells like easter eggs. But it does work!

My dog has shat in our house 2 days in a row. OMG it is foul. Dog stank is the worst stank.

What about pee smell? I think one of my dogs peed on a rug. It doesn't have that cat pee smell. Do you think the white vinegar would work? Because I tried washing the rug with dish washing soap and water and scrubbing it with a broom and it still smells.
