Looks like prom was a blast. Wish I could have been there. I was most likely stuck in a snowy ditch off the side of the highway between Saskatoon and Edmonton (true story). Go prairies!

The food! We got there too late for the sushi and cupcakes, definitely showing up earlier next time.

I don't like sushi, but I hear it was good :) Four of us spent all day making most of that food on Friday (I rolled the salad rolls, made the guacamole and prepped the peanut sauce) - I'm so glad it went over well! The small gluten-free cupcakes were donated by Edible Flours, and Karmavore donated a whole bunch of ingredients for our menu. Also, Eternal Abundance donated a lot for the raw table.

Sadly, I was too busy to eat much of anything, though somehow not too busy to drink beer.

thanks :) The dress was my mom's from the 60s and it had these really horrible butterfly sleeves - like, ridiculous - so I cut 'em off.

Okay, so we're trying to plan a chili cook-off for February. I'll let you guys know details when I have them.

I'm sad you're not coming, but I'm happy I didn't have to bail on a hang out. Because I probably would have bailed. Lotsa work! I have no answer for your NYE - I'm toying with the idea of going to a drag king show.

Should we go to Grub for new years? I'm torn. We're staying in the west end and kind of want to watch the hockey game at the hotel, but then I don't know if we can make a super late reservation anywhere other than downtown. And the buses will be crazy, right? And we won't have bikes or a vehicle. I made a reservation for Wild Rice then cancelled it because we were going to get Canucks tickets until we realized the game was actually in LA, and now they are full. This "getaway" is my xmas present for Jay so I want it to be awesome!

Any west end suggestions? mel b?

Not for special NYE dinner, but for lunch the next day, perhaps, hit Mainly Organics at Haro and Denman. They make AMAZING vegan pizza. With pepperoni! Although it is Daiya, so you may not be too keen on it...
