Really? I thought it was the best to date. With Jess pretending to be the girlfriend, Natasha Lyonne, those teeth, and the slow motion chicken dance...I have not laughed harder at this show. Ha.

Although, in reference to the gender stuff, one thing that pissed me off was when Schmidt said the thing about her looking like a slut. I feel like SO many shows are trying to copy the model of HIMYM by having a slimy character like Barney. The thing is...it really doesn't work. Few people can carry off the charm and adorableness of NPH. Plus, he plays that character with layers so you can see that he has heart. That's just my wordy way of saying I hope they tone down the Schmidt character.

I agree, but I mainly love her singing voice. I just want 21 minute-shows of her singing old tunes while showing off her cute outfits. Don't care for the show itself much, to be honest. The lack of chemistry among the cast is painful.

i finally watched glee tonight and at the end of my recording was the very beginning of new girl, which i re-watched and it had the brother-cousin line! she said, "let's go knock biscuits, brother-cousins!" or something close to that. hard to tell for sure with the teeth.

So, I just checked this show out on hulu and it is literally a show about me...which I find depressing...because it is, in fact, not cute to be this awkward.

I didn't find episode 4 as funny as ep 3 but I did laugh at Winston and Leo (I can't remember his name from this show, only VMars) passing the sharing/feelings stick between them while Nick was talking.

That reminded me of Elliot in Scrubs. And the show him yours because you saw his reminded me of Abed's speech to Jeff in Community.

I thought this episode was the funniest one yet. I laughed so damn hard at Nick and his naked dancing. This show is hilarious.

Well yeah, I mean they have definitely set that up by making him the "lovable, slightly idiotic nice guy" character. If that does happen it will have been the most predictable love connection ever.

I have such mixed feelings about this show. On one hand there are some truly very funny scenes, but on the other had, the major plot point and arguably the premise of the show depends on the believability of Zooey deschanel's character as something other than super hot and awkward in a lovable way. It annoys me so much. And yeah, caricatures of gender stereotypes being the key aspects of multiple character's personalities is boring and frustrating.
