Hi ppkers who draw and welcome back to one of my favourite threads. (And many thanks to the ppker who started the old thread!) I'm currently working on a series I call "Monsters". Experimental I-never-learned-crosshatching technique using an assortment of cheap black pens. I hope that when the series is complete I can find a way to scan them all and post them here. (I really miss the fabulous scanner at my old office!) What are you working on?

I'll share a drawing! Someone has to be the first, right? These are from my first ever art class in undergrad.

These are just some sketches I've done when I'm bored, not super polished or anything. Just for fun! (so be gentle) This is from a photo - it was my friend's profile pic on Facebook for a while. I thought it was a neat way to turn stereotypes on their head. :) The cascades from a plane leaving Portland, OR. Sorry if I totally just filled up the thread.

I wouldn't even know in which direction all the lines should go. *hangs head* In all honesty it's not really so much an issue of which direction the lines should go, even though it might seem that way. Some lines follow the contours of the body, but you can see that some are just haphazardly going in whichever direction, just as long as they're filling space with shadow and delineating highlights wherever the lines don't exist. Did that even make sense? And in my experience, cross-hatching looks much better when you just overlap lines that run parallel to one another, going in the same direction, rather than doing the "I'm making a bunch of 'x's" thing. I didn't draw this from memory by any means, I saw the image in a book and drew it freehandedly. It's awesome practice in so many ways.

I am impressed with the PPK collective drawing ability. One day I'll have time to actually draw things other than really tall and thin women wearing clothes again. Here are some recent illustrations I did for an imaginary collection I designed. I try and get away with making my figures as not tall, thin and freakish as my instructors like and I always get called out on it! It's not my typical illustration style, but since it's a lower level class computer aided rendering is banned.

These are old drawings from journals, trying to nudge myself into drawing again. Is the top one too big? I tried to resize it and it didn't work. Sigh.

Every time I see the title of this thread, it makes me consider posting something like, "HEY EVERYONE POST YOUR PICS (including nudity please!)".

Here is a self portrait I did for my 2d design class. The image is rendered using font, more specifically, the lyrics to Radiohead's Fitter, Happier close up

Not a drawing, but this is a photo I took during my foundation year in art college. I made the structure too and it's supposed to show the "life" of a flipped cup.

Drawing in my sketchbook for Lifedrawing class. Homework. In a month I should have some of the actual nude model stuff I did and am doing in the class itself.

the monster and the bride, for 2nd year drawing, "the body project" -> very open-ended 2nd year drawing, "urban environment" project, also very open-ended, i chose cemeteries, because they are a spectacular urban environment and not at all for the dead
