this is a long shot, but I'm hunting for some dried yuba sheets (for "skin" on Thanksgiving loaf.) I've got em before at a Chinese supermarket in Queens but don't have time to get there, and I tried a couple of the Japanese groceries in the East Village and all they had were the little "pillows" of frozen yuba, which won't be very helpful to wrap the loaf in. Has anyone randomly seen those big dried sheets? probably a supermarket in Chinatown but I don't know which one to start with.

I haven't seen them, but Tokyo Mart on Mulberry is very well stocked. I never had the occasion to look for yuba, good luck!

I know I'm replying a little late but if you haven't found it yet...There is a specifically vegetarian store in Chinatown called May Wah that supplies all of the veg chinese restaurants. If they don't have it, I'm sure they'll know where to get it.
