p.s. why anti-moustache? like, 'because they look stupid'? or because 'growing a moustache won't change the world?'
(edit: at a superficial level, I agree with both of those now that I read over it)

i'm thinking of ditching my apartment, and finding something else after i get back. seems silly to pay that much for it to sit vacant for a month anyway.
to make that work, i'd need: a) somewhere to store shiitake for a month (I don't have a lot. there's a couple of bikes and a worm bin that might be the biggest trouble. but they're good worms. promise.. other than that, there's a bag or two of my stuff. not a lot, really.) b) a couch for a couple of nights at either end. or a hostel c) someone with a car to help me ferry my shiitake. a single carload would do it
can anyone help? I can give you some coins or baked goods as a thank you. and all the Vegemite you could dream of.

I don't have much room to store shiitake, but we do have a bike room in our building if you're cool with that. It's pretty big, lots of bikes, plenty of racks to lock them up to. Next time you're in the area, come look at it.
We have a sofa bed for at least before you leave - maybe for when you get back as well if we're not in Toronto. And cat pillows.
edit: Looks like I'd have to clear the bike room thing with the building manager first. I'd forgotten that our bikes are tagged, and hopefully I'd be able to get a couple of temporary ones.

Hey Vancouver. I need a new doctor who doesn't suck. And who's all vegan-friendly and shiitake. Can you help a girl out?

Heeeey change of topic. Anyone know of somewhere that serves vegan ramen? All the joints downtown make theirs with pork broth and I dearly miss my Japanese ramen on cold fall/winter weekends. Help!
Also Angela - remember those super awesome tasty sugar free cookies you made for a bake sale (I think they were "angel cookies" or something?) Would you mind sharing a recipe if you have one?
Also...weeknight meetups are tough for me..any weekend evenings free for anyone in the next month?

I've never been, but I have heard that Sha Lin Noodle House on Broadway at Cambie does vegan soups. Not sure about ramen, though. Could be worth checking out.

sidenote: on Friday, my Irish coworker told me that when i say 'f-ork' (hyphenated just to get around wordfilter. otherwise this gets weird) with my natural accent it sounds exactly like when Irish people say 'f-uck'
so I've been saying fork at a lot
aye, fork meh!

Slow and steady, Josh ;)
I'd be up for a Saturday or Sunday brunchy thing (not bronchi, stupid autocorrect) this weekend or next. Or lunch. Or whatever.
And thanks for the doctor recommendation, Fishelle!

As far as I know there isn't anywhere downtown to get vegan brunch, except maybe the Templeton but I haven't tested it out yet. Any other suggestions for this hood? I'd be up for somewhere on Main or Commercial too..Rhizome or the Wallflower might be my bets because I don't go there as often as the rest of you :) Bandidas? Cafe Deux Soleils?

i've never been to bandidas for brunch and it sounds darn good so i'd love to try it out! otherwise my vote goes to rhizome for having the most variety for vegans.

I like Bandidas for brunch. That gets my first vote :) Second would be Rhizome or Wallflower.

! Bandida's! and the Templeton kinda sucks if you have more than 4 people - you don't fit in the booths birdsonawire wrote: I'm free this Sunday for brunch, so I'd love to be able to meet you other Vancouver folks! any chance of sneaking it in on Saturday instead? we'd (I'd!) like to meet you too!
