My sister (who was 3 at the time) lobbied my aunt to name her firstborn "Rashy."

Names that are a personality trait, like Constance, Clement or Prudence. What if you turn out to be nothing like your name? Also, I was always grossed out by names that are about the conception history of the child. I've heard kids named Désirée ("desired"), Bienvenue (you were a surprise but we welcomed you anyway) and Victory (at long last!) after how hard or easy they were to conceive, and I find it a little innapropriate.

I went to kindergarten with a girl named Barbie Q. Grill. That was pretty crummy of her parents.

My family knows a girl whose name is Hyatt, because that's the hotel where she was conceived. Ugly AND in poor taste!

If-Christ-had-not-died-for-thee-thou-hadst-been-damned. Imagine not only having to learn how to spell all that in grade school, but having to type it into forms, sign it on checks ("Yeah, I need the extra-wide signature line edition, thanks."), and heck, just introduce yourself to people... "Everyone calls me 'Damned.'"

I've always felt you would be tempting fate if you named your kid "Patience", although I do love the name.

I was friends with a girl in high school named Shasta... because her parents conceived her while on a trip to Mt. Shasta. I agree, it is very poor taste, especially if you go around telling people.

I worked in public schools in the U.S. and there's nowhere else in the world to find crazy, awesome names. Apparently there was a student at one of the schools where I worked (not my student) named Nimrod.
Also, I've heard of L-a (say it with me now, Ladasha), but I'm not sure if that's an urban myth like lemonjello and orangejello.

Clitorine is a real French name. It's in the baby name book, and picked every now and then by parents who apparently failed anatomy class pretty hard.
