I would love to be able to run, but I'm not in shape in the least. And I'm not patient, so I don't want to do this run-walk crepe. I want to just be able to full out run a 5k, and we all know that's not happening.

I wish I liked to run. I've tried many times to get into running, but it's always been physically and mentally painful-don't know why. It's just so easy and cheap to throw on shoes and go out for a run.
I also wish I had the money for pilates classes with equipment. There is just no way I could pay $50 for an exercise session.

So I always have heard about the "runner's high" and "Exercise high" and so on, but I don't think I get that. Mostly I find exercise annoying and boring. Mostly boring.
I've read that there are a few people who don't get the runner's high thing, and perhaps I'm one of them, although I don't necessarily trust the source. (THE INTERNET.) Note that I do like games like badminton, and I'll work myself up pretty good playing, but that's just because I like the game. (And most games and sports I don't actually like that much.)
I dunno. Without that immediate payoff, I am unlikely to bother to exercise, because, meh. I could be doing something more interesting and less annoying.

I would like to bike to work but I don't have the time. I need to start running again but I feel too weak. I would like to take yoga classes but they are hell expensive.

I don't get it! I've been jogging lately to just keep myself moving. I did the couch to 5k and hoped that would change my attitude towards, but it didn't.

I want to go swimming, but I don't want to drive and stand around outside waiting for the parking shuttle with wet hair. Such an insurmountable hurdle, I know.

I'm having shoulder pain and mobility issues since surgery two+ months ago. Physical therapy is helping, but I still can't ride my bike. It's borderline depressing.
I ride everywhere and I miss being on my bike so damn much. It's just been sitting in the living room for over a month now. I'm also out of work right now (my position is incredibly physical, and I'm on FMLA leave until it's better). I would love to go on long bike rides to kill time and get some exercise and fresh air. I also ride as my main method of transportation. It takes so long to get anywhere by bus, and walking is inconveniently slow.

I'm exhausted. I know exercise will help, but exercising when I'm tired? Not appealing. The opposite of appealing.

I'm biking ~100 miles a week now but I wish I had time to run or the motivation to do some strength and core training. It's just way too easy to pour myself a beer as soon as I get home from work.

I may have discovered the perfect "I need to SOMEthing better than nothing but I feel like crepe" activity.
I watched an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise and bounced on my balance ball for the whole episode, and held some 2.5lb weights and pushed them all over for the duration. For awhile I balanced myself on the ball, put my arms on the couch seat to stabilize and picked up my legs and bounced. That worked back muscles and triceps and shoulders somehow. I dunno what regular bouncing did, but I think it got my butt, and of course I did shoulders and biceps and such with the weights. I did some twisty stuff too.
So when you can't get your asparagus away from the tv and don't have much equipment or wherewithall, you can do something. And actually, bouncing is fun.

I used to be a machine. I'd go to a 90 minute yoga class for relaxation, then run or use the elliptical for an hour. Now I have to force myself to exercise. I used to love running. I just haven't been able to get back into it. I'd love to be able to bike for hours without getting exhausted. I can do about 20 miles, with nice scenery, so I guess that's not all bad, but I love to do really long rides.

I LOVE hot yoga, so for me, it's not a problem of motivation. It just costs way too much. So instead, I do cardio at the gym at my school which is okay but I don't love it the way I love yoga.

Last year I was very into working out, I had a workout buddy and we would always go to classes together but then she started working at the same job as me and we had completely different schedules so I kind of lost all motivation to do anything. I really want to get back into shape and in a good routine because I felt really good about myself and I think it helped a great deal with my depression. Now I just have to get out of this rut I am in and jump right back into it. I am hoping that when I start school in January it will be a new beginning for me and I can work out at the shcool gym or something, maybe meet some like minded people? *crosses fingers

Sit ups. There really is no excuse. I just don't like them. I ride my bike or walk to work, plus my job is physical, but I still have lots of wobbly bits; my belly being the worst!

I'd love to run. I downloaded the couch to 5k podcasts ages ago and still haven't forced myself to do it. I really want to be able to run a 5k like the race for life next year. So I'm going to try and get up the guts to start it.
My old workmate is running a half marathon next year and it's inspired me to try!

I want to be into cycling, but I'm too lazy to get the bike out. I think this winter I'll try and push myself to take spinning classes so by the time spring/summer rolls around I'll feel like I can be an awesome cyclist (even if spinning is nothing like real biking).
For those who've taken spinning, what's it like? Is it mostly high speed wheel turning?
I also wish it were early fall and I was hiking through some foliage-riffic mountains.
Also, DANCE! I wish I was someone who took dance all their life and was amazing and still dances. Instead I never took dance, but I watch dancers in awe.
Also, boxing. And martial arts. I did A LOT of martial arts as a kid, but now I don't have any money. I'm a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, y'all! God, I want to get back into it so badly. I need money. Martial forms really make me feel strong. I loved it.

I am glad I started hiking/going on trails over a month ago. I like exercise to be fun and I prefer to be outside if possible. Right now I take two 45 min. walks with my dog every day but I have to remind myself that is her exercise and not mine. I do a dvd work out 2-3 times a week and go for a 5-6 mile trail on Saturdays. I am starting to jog a bit and would like to get into running as well. I just learned to ride a bike a couple months ago--I'm thirty. It was sooo much easier than I thought it would be.

I wish I was doing any exercise. By the time I get home from work, walk the dog, feed the dog, make my dinner and clean up I have no time left to do any proper exercise!
