Took my family to Memphis Taproom on Fri nite for dinner, not telling them there was *gasp* vegan food on the menu. Everyone loved their dinners and I thought the chicken fried portobello was quite tasty. My brother loved it so much he's going to bring his friends to try out the biergarden. :)

I've only had it once though- didn't find it too exciting. It's not all vegan and at the time they weren't able to give me very good answers about what might have egg in it. From their yelp reviews, though, it sounds like they've gotten better. Of course I still bought the eversave :P

Suppose I should have to give it a try. Oh well.

Hey Philly people. Just to let you know that for MoFo this year Tami and I are cooking through the Horizons cookbooks. We'll have a post everyday for MoFo but aim to carry on until we've cooked everything from both books! I'll come back with the blog URL before MoFo starts, but if you're missing Horizons, you can follow us instead!

Cool idea for Mofo! I have both books but have only made a handful of things out of each of them.

Although I can't say I know much of anything about Bradley Cooper. But I like that there is a new Cohen brothers movie coming out!

Just noticed: Promotional value of Save must be redeemed in one visit. The last one they had, they put the amount on a gift card so you could redeem it across visits.

oh. that sucks. :-( i guess one person eating $20 worth of stuff in one visit to that place is a bit much. i think they sell bagged coffee if you had already gotten the deal.

Does anyone know if any little store in Center City (like uber-Center Rittenhouse-type shiitake) sells vital wheat gluten? I need to find it tomorrow but I have like maybe 10 minutes to spare at work since I'm out most of this week so it has to be near Rittenhouse. Blurhg.

I'm looking for a cafe/coffee shop near 30th Street Station that can accommodate 12 adults and children. Go!

Best bet might be the Drexel U. campus. There's a coffeeshop in a Drexel student union building that is .4 miles by Google's walking directions, and between the seating in the cafe and in the student union area around the cafe, there should be plenty of space. There's a Starbucks "counter" in another building that's slightly closer, but it probably won't accomodate so many people. There's plenty of sitting area in 30th Street Station, and there are, of course, places to get coffee. But nothing that I would call a cafe/coffeeshop with enough space for your crew.

come to philly, gnat! p.s. does anyone want to accompany my husband (unclegramps) to the wu-tang show at the troc on december 16th? http://www.thetroc.com/events.phpi really can't justify spending the extra 45 bucks right now, and honestly, they're not my bag. (p.s. he only purchased 1 ticket, so if you want to go, you'll have to get your own.) <3

I will not spend that kind of money to see them. It's such a bummer. Hope he finds someone to go with!
