my friend went on vacation to some magical land where he had access to free beets. but he had no money for other food and by the end of vacation he seriously thought he was dying. all out panic. hilarious!

When my mom gave me the period talk when I was a kid, all she mentioned was to let her know if I ever saw something red in the toilet.

We're greek, we ate beets a lot. She had to clarify this rather quickly.

Haha! The first time I had beets as an adult(i think my parents used to feed them to us when we were little but I can't remember), about a year and a half ago(pathetic I know) I didn't know about the after effects....... I ate a ton of them and the next day thought I was dying. I thought I was pissing and shitting blood. My (ex)boyfriend laughed hysterically when I called him frantic.

Then a month or so ago I almost rushed my dog to the vet because I thought she had blood in her stool. Nope. I had given her a few bites of my beets and since she is so tiny, a few bites was all it took to change the color of her poop
