This is a tiiiiny painting I did for a friend's birthday.

I hope other people start posting soon, I don't want to be the only person flooding this thread!

I wouldn't mind you flooding this thread with pics, I love your paintings. I always wanted to try painting but I'm afraid I'll waste money on paint, brushes, and canvasses just to find out that I suck.

Haha, thank you! If it's something you've always wanted to try, GO for it! Acrylic and watercolor paints are super cheap, and you don't always need to use canvases. I think you should try it. ;)

i haven't painted in a while, but i used to. i don't have anything i've done in this house. i should start again.

if you're concerned you will waste money, many a lovely painting has been done on a brown paper grocery bag with acryclics. just saying!

All of the above! Normally I just paint and keep them unless someone asks for it. I do have an etsy, but since moving haven't had time to restock. I also love requests. ;D

I paint! I can't find any pictures of my work right now, but I'll get some up soon. I actually haven't picked up a brush in.... over a year? I'm feeling really crappy about that and really need to start back up. Once I finish get some of my grad school apps moving along....

Or maybe I need to just start now.

I'm taking an acrylic class. First art class in over 20 years. So I've really only been doing this with any direction for 6 weeks (read: take it easy on me;)) I just finished Happy tonight:

Wow! All of these paintings are so very fun. I'm playing with acrylic paints for the first time in my 2D Design class, but so far it has just been value scales and saturation scales and color wheels. I have another semester of basic drawing and design classes but then I get to take painting and I will share my work with you!

Even when I get a product I don't like, I like the process. Therefore, not a waste of money for me even when I do stink at it. I work with numbers all day so it's a good use of the other side of my brain. I say try - you'll never know otherwise!

Thisheregiraffe, I love your art! Especially the one with the air balloon.

I painted only one thing recently, but I really want to take it up again! The tiny paintings are a great idea for Christmas presents add-ons! Like next to a normal present, a little painting specially made. I'll go buy the canvas today.

I'm going to take a life painting class next semester. I'm excited.
