I'm meeting up with some family members on the Upper West Side tomorrow evening and we're looking for a place to eat. They're expecting me to choose somewhere where they can get meat, which obviously I'm not thrilled about but it's better than letting them choose and having nothing to eat myself. Can anyone give me some recommendations? They're paying, so price is not a huge issue. Ideally, somewhere where we can have a conversation at a reasonable volume on a Monday evening.
Thank you so much, and I'm very sorry I won't be around long enough to meet up with any PPKers...this is kind of a short-notice, zip-in-zip-out family thing.

Josie's is ok. Good Enough to Eat can work, too.

second peacefood! and ozu, a macrobiotic japanese restaurant which is almost entirely vegan, is amazing and i think one of the best places to eat in the city. also there is a blossom on near the natural history museum.

peacefood is awesome, but it's not the place i'd bring people who were expecting to be able to order meat!

Ohh I didn't see the meat part. Yeah...probably not the best idea!

Thanks everyone! We went to Josie's and everyone was happy. I can highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli. The one thing they do not have is vegan desserts -- they do have soy ice cream, but the pies all contain eggs.
