thank you!

chunky yarn and giant needles means it knits up really quick. i'd definitely make it again. i'm actually thinking of making 3 more and sewing them together with this one to create a giant blanket.

I've been trying to find online how long and a wide a scarf for kids should be, but I can't find any scarf patterns that are just for kids to get some approximate measurements from. The kids in question are ages 4-7 and pretty small

This pattern has measurements for kids aged 3-7. Hope it helps.

I got a kindle fire and the covers you can buy were all stupid expensive or leather, so I made one! it definitely isn't perfect, but totally functional. I really like how it came out. I sewed a piece of thick cardboard under the fabric on the side under the kindle and you can actually roll up the soft cover part and make the kindle stand up to watch movies. it works pretty well! I just want to swap the elastic out for black, but i had the white in the house, so I used it.

vegimator flew home to TX today so I have been watching Christmas movies with the cats, drinking, and getting some g-d knitting done! I FINALLY finished veganismbot's scarf! I started this sucker before Thanksgiving. It was kind of my work project though, so I rarely worked on it at home for like a month. Pretty stoked; it's reversible cables and even though the picture doesn't show it well, it's a lovely tweedy orange (from this company: http://www.kraemeryarns.com/yarn/yarn.asp?YarnIdnt=16) that will go great with vbot's hair, haha! I wove that last end in right after taking this:

(Please ignore slept-on-after-shower hair and zitface, I was alone today and didn't bother to dress up for the kittles, I mean, come on, they don't dress up for ME!)

I'm not so great at knitting yet, but here's one of my first finished projects (on my friend, who has really cool hair):

This whole thread makes me wish I could knit. I try, but get so discouraged during teaching myself that I put the needles away for another year before I frustrate myself again. Arghhh.

You can store a menstrual cup in it! I'm going to make a few of these for a fundraiser for my LGBTQ Quaker group.

I had/still have this problem too--it's tricky trying to learn from youtube videos and stuff when one tiny wrong motion can eff up what you're doing. Some arts and crafts stores offer one-time knitting classes, maybe you could look around for one of those?

I got a sewing machine on Friday. It's pretty basic but seems to be able to handle heavy-ish fabrics like denim okay. What should I make? So far the only things I've ever made on a sewing machine have been a Morsbag (with extensive help from the experienced Morsbaggers), and a skirt adapted from an old pair of jeans.

I'm looking for easy clothes to make, if anyone has any recommendations for sites/books/patterns?
