http://www.821caferva.com/Welcome.html Café 821 has extensive, if not exclusive, vegan offerings. You can go there with your omni friends and EVERYONE will come out happy.

I visited a couple of days ago with my daughter (a self-described 'rare-itarian' - what is that, someone who wants to be vegan, but who is not quite ready to take the plunge? Anyhow...) and my husband (omnivore deluxe). ALL of us had a wonderful meal.

The wonderful vegan appetizer and meal I had:

Hummus plate - this had to be, hands down, about the best hummus I have ever had. No aftertaste, just smooth and creamy. And the veggies were all fresh and crisp (squash, cucumber, tomato, onion). There was flatbread that was also delicious.

Main course (for me) VEGAN CHILI - This was to DIE FOR. It was fantastic. I crumbled some tortilla chips into this, and was in hog heaven. Beans of several kinds, corn, onions, green peppers, and seasoning that was just about perfect. What's not to love?

Go there. You won't be sorry.

Here's another thread for Richmond - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=883
I'm going to lock this one just so it's easier for people to find stuff about richmond when they search, but thanks for the review!

I went to 821 last weekend for brunch. They didn't have a ton of vegan options, but the scramble and breakfast burrito were really good and the roasted potatoes were awesome! my non vegan friends loved their food, too. i was really wishing the biscuits and gravy were vegan.
