I know I (and others ) occasionally mention Bulk Barn in our posts but I was there today and thought it deserves a topic of its own.
Smoked paprika! I have bought this twice now at the Superstore, the only place I could find it, for some outrageous price for a 46 gram bottle, and today I saw that Bulk Barn is stocking it. It is $1.24 for 100 grams, the same price as regular paprika.
They also now have smoked salt, .58 for 100 g, which I have never tried before.
They have always had gluten free and healthier choices there (like a variety of whole grain flours) but it seems the store is positioning itself more toward that market lately, which is good news for me.

I love Bulk Barn. I just got two gift cards for BB at xmas, so I'll be stocking up on nuts, vwg, spices, grains. So much stuff. I'm tempted to try the smoked salt you mentioned.

I love Bulk Barn too but there aren't any close to me at the moment. But when I am in a 'hood where I know a BB will be, I get excited and make a list and know I have to go in and find whatever unique stuff they have cheap.

I bought vwg there last week because I had a 25% off coupon but it is in fact cheaper to buy the Bob's Red Mill brand in the bag at Superstore. Not a lot cheaper but still.
Occasionally the bulk prices are higher so it pays to check. On the other hand, sometimes you only need a couple of tablespoons of something and it's nice not to have to buy a whole kilo.

I love Bulk Barn! Their graham cracker crumbs are vegan!! Unfortunately the whole crackers are not. Also, if you plan on going in advance, there is a weekly coupon to save $3 on any purchase over $10 that you can print (can you tell I'm on a budget? haha)

I bought nooch, tvp, soy curls, and soy nuts at my Bulk Barn, along with some sesame seeds (white and black) and smoked paprika!
The one here in Guelph didn't have vital wheat gluten flour, or maybe I was looking for the wrong thing? Ho-hum. Time to go back and check again!

Bulk Barn is foreign to me! Is it a Central/Eastern Canada thing? Jeals.
ETA: Oh I guess there are three in BC's interior, and one in my parent's town in Alberta. Wish I knew while I was visiting them! Nooch was nowhere to be found.

I have to look for Soy Curls next time I get to one!
I've seen vital wheat gluten there, but never bought it.

Did you buy them in bulk or were they in a package? Is it soy curls from butler foods? http://butlerfoods.com/ I've checked a few stores around here but haven't seen any.

The ones I bought were Soy Curls in bulk. It didn't list where they came from, but the ingredients are vegan and they taste delish!

I was at my local Bulk Barn in Dartmouth (NS) last night, just a quick stop on my way by at almost closing time.
They had a number of things at 50% off. I suspected that the bulk bin things that were 50% off were not going to be stocked anymore so I asked the cashier and she said she thought that was what would happen. There was some good stuff so check out your local one. On the downside, some of the things I noticed 50% off on my quick walk through at the store were things that I buy sometimes - sea salt is one I remember.
All of the chocolate and protein bars they got in before Christmas were 50% off. My girlfriends and I are going away for the weekend to a cabin in the country, so I bought 2 pounds of fair trade chocolate in a variety of flavours at a very good price!
