Hi Phee,
Thanks for responding! I didn't think you meant you were counting calories or anything like that really. I was just saying that I wasn't trying to lose weight more for my own sanity. For me it becomes really muddy when talking about cutting anything out. I am not doing fruits for the next 13 days, but this is just to see how sensitive I am to sugar. I'm really glad to have found this thread! How is your sugar-cutting going?

phee wrote: Whats going to happen when I have PMS?!?!?! Homicide, I assume :) A 13 hour work day and you are not cranky? You must be a saint, I get so crabby when I have 10-12 hour days. Are you cutting down on sugar for good, or doing a trial period, etc? As for my no-sugar, I only tried to stab my SO a few times last night… so I think its going relatively well.

Im starting to think I was on a sugar high all day everyday. My skin looks better but I have been drinking more water and eating more veggies, so I cant attribute it to the sugar.

I am jumping into this thread. I really want to be as healthy as possible this year. I have been eating a little better and have joined the gym but I want to eat less sugar too because it is my MAJOR weakness and I find it impossible to say no tp baked goods/sweets/sugary food in general!
I am still going to bake once a week (my Sunday treat!) but during the week I will be avoiding sugar. Wish me luck!

Good Luck Sarah Jane!
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that when they cut down/out sugar that they had nightmares? Or other strange things?

I'm actually doing pretty well. No headaches yesterday. I'm excited to add fruit back in next week though! No digestive relief over the past week, so I'm thinking it's not the culprit...

Im on day 10 and my head hurts, could it be detox this late? I had the junior mints and could barely eat any. They were way too sweet and made my head and stomach hurt. Come to think of it, its been hurting off and on since that day.

no nightmares, but i can say for sure that my insomnia has ramped up since i started modified E2L (no overt sugar or oil, very limited carbs). i am doing some herbal stuff for it (chamomile and passionfruit tea) but even with running every day, craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

Any pms tips, I want to be ready before it happens. There is a recipe for chi pudding on Oh She Glows, but that's all I've got.

phee, Republic of Tea's Chocolate Coconut Tea saved my asparagus when I was doing no-sugar before. Also, since you mentioned the OSG chia pudding I'm assuming you want chocolaty things, frozen bananas blended with a bit of unsweetened cocoa powder makes a good chocolate ice cream, and avocado, almond milk(or whatever unsweetened stuff you drink) and unsweetened cocoa powder makes a really yummy chocolate pudding.
I'm going to be starting this again on Thurs since I've eaten so much crepe over the holidays and I feel so much better when I'm not eating sugary crepe all the time, and I've got a friends b-day party to go to tomorrow so I want to have fun celebrating with her, not worrying if food has sugar in it.

I'm on a brief journey into no-sugar (as well as a bunch of other things, all major allergens, etc.) and I was worried about PMS and my period, too. It really wasn't too awful. I am occasionally using agave, and on the day I had the worst chocolate craving, and didn't even have cocoa powder, I mixed a couple tablespoons of almond butter, some agave, and some raw coconut together, and ate it with a spoon. I'm guessing it would be just as satisfying without the agave. I also found taking some magnesium helped.

I had really really dark chocolate on the weekend and other than that I've added fruit back in and it tastes so good. I like the way my taste buds have adapted back to what they were for most of 2011, and excited to dive into some lower sugar baking in the future.
